        Minor set back. Imagine getting everything fitted to find they don't go in the manifold.

          Hi Guys,

          Just got back from my mechanic's place. The injectors are direct fit. Nevertheless, I've sent an email to USRallyTeam.com to verify againts stock injector part no that you've provided. Crossing fingers

                  Gav, I don't know if your polo and S3 share the same injectors(which I think they should) but Marty is using the same injector set ie Siemens Deka 630cc injectors on my AJL. I do remember Marty get some spacers but better ask him as I did not help order those bits for him.

                  My very very reliable source(you know who LOL) said it's ok to run them. The spray pattern is not as good when compared to Injector Dynamics or Genesis but both of them started off as Bosch injectors and then modded with custom tips. iirc, Mike said the bosch racing injectors have a 33degree spray pattern or something like that.

                    Just got reply from Scott Williams of USRallyTeam.com. Since the injectors I bought is direct-fit then it's the right one for our engine. Though we can still use the AEB version injector (a little taller) but requires spacer for the fuel rail upwards.

                      Good stuff mate, Scott certainly knows his injectors! So does this mean the turbo is on?

                        The installation just commence yesterday, I guess should be ready by end of today or early next week. Will let you all knows the outcome. Can't wait to crank the engine and let it rip on the dyno

                          What was thought to be “plug n play”, turns out to be “plug n pray”

                          The installation job couldn’t be completed last Saturday as the mechanics encountered several pipes are in the way of the new turbo inlet hose. And my custom intercooler inlet pipe location makes situation kinda worse. So we’ve decided to unplug heater, SAI, N249 and PCV pipes. We will use ProVent 200 oil catch can to filter and push oil vapor to air instead of recirculating it back to the engine.

                          There’re seems to be quite positive feedback on this ProVent 200 in later generations of VW engines and hopefully it works well in VW 1.8T as well. Oh well, we’ll see. Here’s short info on the product:

                            That a Frankenturbo inlet pipe?

                            I have one off the Mk 4 Golf GTI. No way that's going to fit. I was lucky to have the TIP from an S3 and I have that on the turbo with the top end from a standard Polo to run the standard MAF until I tune it.

                            I am waiting on some standard Polo silicon TIPs to arrive (forge style). Then I am going to think hard and cut some stuff up.

                            The waterpipe around the block gets in the way and I looked at bending it out of the way but don't like that idea. The securing bolt above the gearbox is the only one so it needs to remain or the pipe will work it's way out at the other end.

                            I think a straight silicon pipe off the inlet that runs under and past the gear linkages is the way to go, then join that to a suitable bend to get to the MAF. The biggest issue is the DV return and PCV.

                              That's the one mate. Does the standard Forge TIPs for Polo going to work with Frankenturbo? My DV has been relocated, the main issue is the PCV pipes getting in the way.

                                If you get an aluminium MAF housing, they can be wrestled into the Forge TIP. This is part of the plan....... Obviously you need to mate that to something that will go onto the turbo.
