Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

      • Ordered it some ventolin.

That is a Seat Intake, after it's service which I'll try to sort out next week. It's getting brainwashed and told to go faster

I don't have anything to indicate cruise control is active either. I was told this is normal by my dealer? Mines an MY08 Polo TDI.

Interesting ... I looked it up in the manual, and it says "where fitted" indicating it's not a standard option. I wonder why VW skimped on this? Surely a cruise control dash indicator isn't a luxury feature...

              • Washed & waxed my GTI and washed, claybar & waxed Jason's GTI. For those who were at the dyno day and saw how filthy the car was, it is now the complete opposite

Took it for a spin too - it's nice to consistantly have that amount of power, instead of heatsoak ruining all the fun

                  • washed it to get what seems to be white paint off the left side of the car...

then went for a fang in mountains to release the stress

                      • Washed and waxed it - first time ever waxing, and must've put too much on or just new to it as the dried hard white stuff took 2 and a half hours to buff all off!

Used the Meguires Hi-Tech Yellow Wax paste with the Brazilian Carnauba stuff in it, recommended by a friend but regretting not spending that bit more and getting the liquid NXT Tech Wax 2...

Hopefully go for some pics tomorrow at the water or up at Mt Tambourine!

cool. im interested to find a nice twisty road (like the one up to buller, or between bright and falls creek) alot closer to the city.

even in a miserable handler like my stock tdi, they are still lots of fun.

                            • Picked it up from Jimmy's after my holiday this week. Vroom Vroom. (Very nice after a Hyundai rental ) All squeaks / rattles have been eliminated ... and the gearbox is now silky smooth.
