Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Today I Clayed, Cleaned, Polished & Waxed the roof, bonnet & front guards, using Meguairs products. The tailgate & rear bumper also was treated but minus the clay.

Also Clayed the windscreen & hatch window. All treated areas are now as smooth as.....

interested in what ever you put around strut brace...

Something to keep my bov getting stuck underneath said brace would be nice. Been using cable ties to stop to going backward and jamming under... but whatever is going on there would do the trick alot better i think.

Yes ... I know ... "Drop it on its guts" ... $$$$ To come.

The sponge rubber tubing I put over the strut brace to stop parts banging and clattering is available at Supercheap Auto ... can't remember what they were originally selling it for ... but it's only about $5-$10 for 2 lengths about 30cms long. I used only one (cut in half) where the air cleaner and the BOV are as nothing else touched the brace.

Jimmy has been doing wonders in my absence ... VERY PLEASED!!!! Put in the Forge BOV, tightened up the RSB (had gotten used to middle setting ... want to try it on hardest/tightest setting now), EBC Greenstuff pads (checked out the Ferodo 2500s ... response back was that these were (predominently) track brakes ... and also considerably more expensive, Martini brake fluid, Oil Change, Dent removal, fix aircon (either TX valve or Compressor) under warranty, tire rotation and wheel alignment, cleaned it up (and then it rained) ... have I missed anything, Jimmy?

The dent was one of those horrible little 'Trolley' dents that ****holes do to your car while it's in the supermarket carpark ... just before they skulk off back to the rock they slithered out from under.

                    Dave

My Pog just conquered the entire Great Alpine Road. I noticed they were re-gravelling in some sections. No detour signs, nothing, the road works guys just smeared fresh tar everyf*$@ingwhere, spread a layer of gravel stones on top and left for the pub in the knowledge that cars driving through would level it off. By the time I made it to Lakes Entrance, I noticed the car had tar ALL over it, spent 2 hrs at the car wash with a rag and bottle of euco oil painstakingly removing it

not on a Polo they won't, they claim it's a complex install and will only install at one of their depots. make sure you INSIST they use the correct tools to remove the screen. they didn't on mine and scratched the duco on the windscreen pillar surrounds, which now needs to be repaired, and another windscreen installed AGAIN.
