Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

        • I dropped mine into the paint shop (Renew My Car @ Geebung) for its roof respray and bonnet buff. Felt weird to watch it being driven away by someone else! Get it back wednesday.

I have KU31s on my Golf, (18"s) BJTM Vic Park set mine up with Nitrogen and 40psi but from what I understand nitrogen runs at higher pressures anyway. Still, you'd think they would set them all the same to begin with :S

              Seems to breathe easier.

                • Just like the placard says! I do agree though.

Mine seems to have settled into its new intake pipe well, feels way better... everywhere, really. Sure doesn't run out of puff coming up to 6k.

                  • Received a nice little envelope through the post :-

And applied it (i ordered the darkest colour possible and think it looks right on the dark car)

They were a revelation on my car too. The VW ones are well under engineered. Did you get the anti-lift ones or standard hole in the middle style?

I picked up some of the standard whiteline ones barely used a few months ago and only just had them fitted. Thought about going to the anti-lift ones but had these here already so chucked them in for now.

                          • Took my Polo to BWA Auto to remove APR tune back to stock.
I felt like I was taking my pup in to have him desexed.
Poor Polo. I think he felt better when I told him we are going
to bolt on a big set of Frankenturbo Kuhunas soon.

                              • not quite today, more like 3 weeks ago....
changes my front brake pads and discs (from factory at 63,000kms). used a thread on this forum as a guide (but stuffed if i can find that thread now).
ended up using stock pads and discs.
the whole job took about 3 hours and that included 1 hr hunting around in my toolbox for the correct size torx thingy for the retaining screw. Original pads still had plenty of wear on them, but the little electric cable that triggered the dash warning light was broken.
