After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

The car is an MY07 (08 model), 50,000kms. Yup, got some super dot 4 brake fluid on the way along with the hardware. The fluid is what GSL recommend for track work.

put a sandwich plate on between the oil filter and block...also changed the oil.
This now gives me some free place to insert my oil temp sender unit and if I want at a later stage, there is still some more space for an oil cooler

A few goodies were acquired this week, to be installed on the weekend.
Front rotors will be machined and remsa pads cleaned up. Also get the ultra racing front lower brace installed.
Camera for a bit of fun on the track days and what not.
As for further mods, the plan is really just for better tyres from here. Might do the dump pipe and retune, will see how my lap times are if I feel the need for a little extra. Enjoy the GoPro.
I use the suction cup mount and it fits well on the windscreen so you don't get hte massive wind noise.
Had to send my Hero 3 Silver back for a replacement as the wifi transponder wasn't working.
The rest of the video and still capture worked flawlessly though.Comment

The only worthwhile upgrade in the 3 is the included wifi and the Black version has the super high resolution capture (4k Resolution but only 5FPS)Originally posted by jboogie View Post
If this is for personal use, there is no need for 4k resolution and even then it is only useful for slow panning shots.
I set mine up without the wifi active last time and it captured perfectly so the upgrade to 3 isn't essential and you get basically the same functionality in the 2 but quite cheap thanks to our throwaway society.Comment

I got the hero2 for $250 delivered with 32gb SD card as the motorsport pack. The best price for a 3 with 32gb card was $370 odd from Kogan. The wifi of the hero3 is almost sufficient justification for the extra, though for the right price I was prepared to go without it initially, plus knowing it can be added. But if going the silver hero3, why not go the Black edition... which get's very expensive for such a limited use piece of kit. Other than wifi and the smaller body, the 2 and 3 are identical image processors. The 3 has better audio from my research, though when strapped to the car, kayak or mountain bike, it's not a relevant consideration.Originally posted by jboogie View Post
