Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

I spent a few days putting on wolfgang paint sealer 3.0 it's great stuff and is more durable that a natural sealer ( canuba wax) , you can put canuba over the top for an extra shine.

I got it from www.waxit.com.au ( cheap freight and quick )

I also used nanolex glass sealer - top stuff you don't need to use your wiper blades over 40 kmh it comes straight off.

I'm trying to score a some sort of discount for all member on the waxit website.

I'll keep you posted on that one

            • Got the RSB, dog bone and rear control arm bushes installed. Changing gears in high revs is not as clunky and a whole lot smoother. Finally getting some traction when lifting off from a stand still. Got the RSB set to medium, cornering if fantastic. I can't wait to get the springs and shocks in a couple of months.

I removed my bumper to install it, a few on here who have access to a hoist managed to install without pulling the front off.

Yeah, too hard to get underneath without doing that...
The forge FMIC install guide (avail from their site) has a briliant guide on removing the front bumper.

I had done the Pikey mod (grill for airflow in the wheel arch) and removed the fog lights to improve circulation to the stock SMIC. Guess I can put them back in now...

Bunnings trips for car parts .... where would we be without Petrina/Hulk's past input to the mod scene.
