Got the rest of the APR ECU tunes added to my GTI....For $400!!! Great value, and thanks to the guys at European Autotech for looking after my old man with it...What isn't good is that they turned on the tune for him, so that he is hooning around and dragging off P plater in Commodores...All with a sloppy grin on his on his face!! I'm going to have to pry him out of the drivers seat with a crow bar when I come home on leave!!! He has said he will hide the keys on me when I get home, so I can't drive it, and the worst thing is, I'm paying for the fuel while he gets to drive it!!
In the next couple of weeks, I am looking at getting a Robco Car Bra...$380 if anyone is interested, and also looking at a full exhaust...Mmmmm, what should I get, Miltek or APR...

Well I finally got around to getting the APR dog bone mount and ipod adapter kit installed. I haven't started the car up when its still the first thing in the morning but when I did notice a slight difference and improvement in rigidity and power transfer the moment I picked it up from Volkspower today. The guys there have been great. Only problem was I just found out that the ipod kit is not compatible with the apple itouch despite being told by Volkswagen dealer I bought it off that its compatible with itouch. Bugger!!! Fortunately I've still got my ipod nano that I've barely used since new and according to the ipod adapter manual, its compatible. I'll give it a go in the morning and hopefully the vibrations from the APR dog bone mount won't be too offensive when I start up the car.

Hi Dave,
It should work with your touch as it plays my iphone which has the same software. I had problems getting it to work at first but try pressing CD or 6, I think that is what worked for me. Only problems are it wont charge newer ipods and wont display the track details on the ipods screen.

cheers, Jim
Hi Jim, I'll give the itouch another go today. For some reason, it took a while until the adaptor worked with the nano. What I noticed was the nanp must not be in pause mode when plugging in the adaptor otherwise it would't work even if you press the CD or 6 buttons. It took me a while to finally wonder if that made the difference and hey presto it did. It charges the nano but not itouch. ALso, when you connect the nano, the VW symbol pops up briefly but doesn't with the itouch however both when connected do say "device connected".
Just ordred the Xcar Link Ipod interface from the UK. Cost $161 delivered. Anyone fitted one of these themselves? Dosn't look too hard, just that I have to pull the stereo out, and plug into the back of it, plus feed the IPOD cable through the glove box.
Also, not so much for the Polo, but to aleviate bordom while I am over here, I got a 12 month subscription to VW Performance Magazine.

Just had a full 2.5" Milltek exhaust fitted to my Polo GTI and all I can say is wow! Awesome sound and phenominal performance gains already. I couldn't be happier.
