Hi Guys
Gav,
Sounds very similar to what I was experiencing.I have now had 3 opportunities to replicate loss of boost when hitting that particular corner with ESP off,WOT, as you suggested ,and she just boosts up and powers on.I think you said it may have had something to do with a sensor on over tilt of car YAWL??? sensor. That and the worn cam follower new plugs and she is running like brand new,Thanks for the advise you where spot on
Cheers
No Worries Barry. Glad to hear she is running better. Run that fuel pressure log again and double check it.
If I had to make an uneducated guess: ignition retard.

I think it's more so braking than cutting power.
Reason being that when you carry some brake and accelerator at the same time... that's a kill joy. That seems to be ignition, it zaps the power for a second or two. When TC comes on in a slide, I can't say I've noticed that it cuts power in the same manner, just restricts wheel rotation.
Gavin, I'm going to do timeattack this Saturday morning at lakeside in the silver car, there's still spots free. Alan has the new APR engine in it and running all day, Nat is doing the morning. If you do the arvo, I'll give you my lap timer, helmet and if time permits, even my semi slicks. How's that for an offer

Organised some stuff in the morning but I'll come and have look. No licence needed?

Gavin
Will need a AASA license. They used to be $20 for a day license and ~$55 for a year (or something similar to that). It's $180 for non-member for half a day.

Yeah I've noticed that too Sean. If ever I go to left foot brake it just kills everything. How the hell do you guys trail brake on the track - or can you do that with ESP off?
In general I would say, it seems to take a second to happen though. I have never seen the ESP light come on, on the Squib at Lakeside. I feel confident stating that there's no YAW sensing like the S3.

On tight switchbacks / S bends I will usually grab a little brake to settle the car and get weight back over the front tyres. One exit I'd accelerate, quick brake (almost a stab on and off), tip in to the next corner while carrying throttle into the corner. The braking isn't enough to slow the car, or intended to do so. Lakeside doesn't have such corners. Wakefield does between turns 4 and 5, the left hander into the right.
ESP off makes no difference for the kill joy. I run without ESC during timed events as it does interfere.
Gavin, RE Saturday, understandable mate. Will probably see you Saturday, I'm doing the morning so will leave after lunch I reckon.

sorry Sean when I said trail brake I meant left foot brake. From what you said Gav that would explain what I've experienced with left foot braking - despite carrying pedal throttle the throttle body motor must be shutting the butterfly.
