    I live on Elmwood Jimmy, maybe that's why it failed?

    It is running again, no rego so not been anywhere except on and off the driveway. Doesn't make any nasty noises so I reckon it's all good now.

        • Well I reckon I made a month without a update( reporting a failure). The Squib has performed pretty well, not used much fuel given the performance, mostly getting 600+ a tank. There's a bit if a coolant drip under the car which needs investigation but I can't get it in the garage, as the A4 is in bits with some busted breather parts. Anyway the main purpose of this post was to tell you all the Phase 3 tune, 440 injectors and MAF are now fitted..



          A very lumpy start as the fuel lines filled up and the air made it's way through. Probably took nearly 10 minutes at idle before it was properly smooth like factory. So I nipped around the block for 10 minutes and it goes really well. Makes loads of boost understatement!! Going to check the actuator pressure with VCDS rather than use the boost gauge that reads nearly -2PSI with the engine off. Further updates when I have logged it.

                Unable to accurately determine that mate, as you know the gauge finishes at 25PSI, it'll swing well past that.

                    So what sort of coin is going into all the kit to make that powa? I've always stayed away from turbo upgrades as I don't have the tools to make it happen myslef, but as there are a few jumping in, its making me feel a little more comfortable about the possibility...

                      Assuming you have a well running Phase/stage 2 already. ie FMIC and TBE

                      This is what you need on top, not an exhaustive list, just off the top of my head.
                      turbo $1100 IIRC Frankenturbo, Anthony's ceramic/billet beauty will be more money when we get the final price. Also needs building into a serviceable core.
                      ebay TIP $70
                      injectors $200
                      MAF $100
                      Rods $400+
                      Rod install kit $400ish
                      Hone tool $100
                      Oil/coolant/filter etc $100ish
                      Clutch $500
                      CAI $250ish mine was secondhand
                      Fuel pump $300
                      Phase 3 $900 (some discount if you have Phase 2 already)
                      I had the head cleaned up and new stem seals etc which was $600
                      This was done to a spare motor that cost $1000.

                      I'll add anything else I think of as it comes to mind.

                      Fitting would be about 2 days or so, maybe a touch longer DIY.

                          I only got it late Friday night, need to check the actuator pressure still. No rush as I can't log it today anyway.

                          • Loaded the first tune on Saturday morning. Went pretty well. 230g/s. Still boosting too hard though. Drop the actuator down a couple of turns so it's under 6 PSI read with VCDS now.

                            Did some logs yesterday evening and just loaded up a revision I was sent tonight. Got an early start tomorrow, so I'll log it after work.

                                And just to compare and show just how absolutely mental Gav's polo is I only pushed though 220g/s The Squib boosts hard

                                Which means he's broken the golden 300bhp mark!
