Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

It may just be the reality of shipping to South Africa... You wouldn't think it'd be any different (especially given RSA is closer than AUS), but shipping companies work in mysterious ways.

so im looking at getting KW v1 coilovers for the polo and from what i have read, there is no camber adjustability with a solid rear end.
are there camber tops for the front available?

do people with coilovers also run thicker swaybars?

Van said the Plastic easy shim, which i think your talking about is crap and dosent really work, also the Kmac tops you have to cut the top off the strut housing

I have the basic V1's, they are good, I had V2's on my old VR6, but didnt really ever need to adjust them, so it was a bit of a waste.
Now that the polo has hit the race track, I guess now I wouldnt mind some V2's. For the road I dont see why you need more than the V1's
Only other brand I would try would be Bilstien but they are to many $$$$

Whiteline shims aren't plastic - Whiteline KCA383 Rear Camber/toe correction - shim type

There's a few guys running them. Apparently, they are good for cars that get tracked regularly to maintain suitable alignment (toe) on the rear wheels when cornering hard. I don't have first hand experience with them, I had heard that the rear tyres will wear quite hard on the track, but from my track time my tyre wear is quite consistent all around, as is the tyre pressure increase which to me suggests reasonably even amount of work being done by each tyre.

I think this is the correct one

Whiteline KCA310 Rear Toe correction - shim type

All tho it dosent really look like a shim, more like a camber eccentric bolt

On the track, the rear of my car stuck like S*it on a Blanket

I dont really thing that much more needs to be done. I need to work on front end grip.
Would be nice if the handling was more neutral, if i could get the back to come loose a little and slide the car around a bit

That may be as simple as adjusting the rear tyre pressures mate. What did you have in them around the track? I would run 40psi front and 32psi rear on my S2. Raising the rears to 40psi and it skipped around a lot more. I also run a Whiteline rear sway bar

I have a whiteline rear bar, I had the tyres on 32-34 I think, which when warm was close to 40psi
