i must have got the wrong chip

i have found after the reflash i dont get even a chirp from 1st to 2nd like i used to on stock, it just lays the power down (stock contis, SEAT, BMC) perhaps the turbo has a bit more lag and doesnt respond as quickly.

It's interesting the variation in what people perceive with the wheel spin/esp cut in/traction breaking on acceleration.

I know with mine if I take off "normally" (ie. not racing, flow of traffic stuff) and then give it full throttle once it is moving (at about 20km/h) I will always get it to wheel spin in 1st, (or esp light will come on if it is turned on) I assumed this is the purely the Contis not being able to take the torque output. The same will happen between 1st/2nd changes if I am pushing higher revs (5k+) and give it full throttle on the change. Can get the same in 3rd as well though it is more a simple chirp then wild wheel spin.

I find "controlled" throttle usage and ESP turned on and I don't have any issues with it being out of control.

In the rain it is a completely different story and I will always have ESP on and am always hesitant to give it too much throttle in 1st or 2nd when the roads are wet.

I've got APR v1 and still running stock suspension and the original Contis.

I agree that there are circumstances that we drive these cars to encourage wheelspin, ie take off normally and then floor it promoting to wave of torque to come on in 1st gear and spin the wheels. or take off under full throttle above 2000rpm. But this is true for most cars.

But in general driving, does it spin all over the place? very arguable.

Im convinced that above 70km/h you wont get it to spin at all, unless its raining or on oil. Im talking about a normal highway/road.

People that say its all over the road in third gear are dreaming.

Agree, as difficult as mine was in 1st gear, (and 2nd above 5000rmin) apart from the (quite lenghty) chirp going from 2nd to 3rd at full throttle I never had any wheelspin in 3rd gear.

A bit of torque steer, yes, but no wheelspin whilst rolling.

Problem is, in city driving you spend a lot of time below 70km/h .... ... and I got tired of always having to be carefull with the throttle in 1st and 2nd in traffic.

Don't think that gives you the stock tune though for when you have to take it back to the dealer's for service, gotta pay extra for another program

The APR special this month - you can get all programs loaded onto your ECU for the normal price!

                    For Polo owners that means:L

                    Stock
                    95 Ron
                    98 ron
                    104 race gas
                    Valet mode

Security & anti theft (yes, no one can take your car even if they get the keys!)

Also throttle body align & fault code erase.

                    All included -

No switching box required (which I believe is not free)

So if you compare apples for apples - it's a pretty good deal IMHO.

Also we have version 1, version 2 & a high flow cat program for you to choose from.

So is there any special pricing for existing customers who already have the APR tune but would like to rest of the tuning options, security, antitheft, valet and fault code erase? If so, how much would the upgrade be compared to normal pricing? Would like to get some of the options added especially the 95 tune.

                      Cheers

Have worked out a sale deal with APR for owners who already have the APR two programs setup:

Pay $400 & you will get a fully loaded ECU.

In the case of a Polo this is :

                              Two additional Programs
                              A$580
Fault Code Erase/Throttle Body Alignment (FCE/TBA)
                              A$199
                              Security Lockout
                              A$199
                              Anti-Theft
                              A$499

                              All Prices Include GST (10%)

This is $1477 value for $400

Can one of those additional programs be V2 Guy? Or can't you have V1 & V2 switchable?

BTW, I'll be in to see you next week as I've got a week off work. I'll give you a ring beforehand.
