I would be in on a forge kit at that price!!!! so long as it can avoid tax/duty etc.

I've emailed Forge based on 5 takers, but depends if they are willing to work with separate payments / distribution.
Its all about how low they can go, my coilovers cost me over $200 to freight and that was very competitive compared to other companies. If they are willing to discount the coolers and do the freight close to cost, we could be in!" I wait I resolution derive pleasure this " latest spammer post

The cost of the FMIC has always been an issue and I'm not willing to pay more than $1000, I just can't justify it to myself...
If Forge play ball, it could be a win-win for everyone. I'm expecting slow communications, basic feedback and maybe in a week to know where we stand.

Just saying why fuss about trying to get a different cheaper alternative when you can get a tried and true option for about the same price.Originally posted by Preen59It doesn't matter what car you drive.. If you're a complete wanker.. People still won't want to talk to you..

Yeah, it was about that.
Tried and tested, yes, but most people with them installed and tested seem to have about 1 or more PSI of boost drop, seems more that the alternative which is also tested and may be cheaper.
I'm looking into it, the last group buy was larger and also I think organised by someone with a relationship with Forge.
Lots of people are interested, lots of people have an opinion. I don't enjoy trying to push this through as its hard to get commitment out of a group, so if Forge don't come back with good news, i'll just do it solo.

I'm well interested but have no cash so I ain't any good to you
Regardless its appreciated all the trouble you are going to, I can imagine doing the running around for a group buy isn't fun.
hey could always try APR as well never know.
Didn't know about the boost drop on the forge kit eitherOriginally posted by Preen59It doesn't matter what car you drive.. If you're a complete wanker.. People still won't want to talk to you..

The Polos with Forge intercoolers are still making plenty of power. Ask Shaneth and VWindahouse.

Bang for buck
For me it is about value rather than cost.
Each dollar spent on the FMIC is a dollar not spent on something else (hmm dump pipe, suspension mods etc)
My opinion is that car mods are not exactly a great investment cash wise - hence the limited budget. You never get back all the money you shelled out for them - they are only worth it if they add to the enjoyment of driving the car.
My work recently offered me a lease deal - A new Golf GTI will cost me a little more than what my pog is costing now. Which raises the question of how far I should take the pog - at some point it is better just to get a different car.

I don't need the best intercooler given I don't plan on moving away from the K03s, so a budget conscious upgrade is the way to go.
If we can get the Forge for under $1000, it makes perfect sense. Otherwise I'm pretty sure for around the $600 mark, I can get someone to fabricate and fit mine (meaning its all done for under $1000).
I don't agree with the forge being the only 'tried and tested approach', seems Sharkie and a few others on here have done well out of custom options.

Sorry mate, don't know.
I have not received any feedback from Forge (not surprised).
Unless someone wants to mastermind the Frozen boost group buy from Brisbane and get the kit made up, manage the process, I'm going to get a unit from Frozen boost whilst the dollar is strong and get someone locally to fit it for me.

Probably a stupid question that's already been covered a long time ago but...
....is there any reason a MkIV Golf GTi intercooler kit wouldn't fit?Previous Rides: Polo GTI, Mx5 10AE, MY05 WRX WRP10, Renault Sport Clio 172
Current Ride: Evo 8 MR, Fabia MK3
