Hahaha I think my hectically chipped dumped bling wheeled caddy would be slower to 100 than your car is over the 1/4! So no.

Haha. You blokes crack me up!

I've got to say without the Polo GTI people, I reckon this would be a pretty boring place!

On a side note. My old & lightly tuned mk1 GTI could stay in front of a pretty modded polo GTI in a straight line drag race (on a track, not traffic lights!) & there was no way in hell I could stay with a VE SS.

I couldn't even keep up to smell the fumes!

Must be something in the air up there I reckon!

Keep up the good work people! hahahaha

a stock VE SS crummydore should be around a full second faster to 100 than a chipped polo GTI surely?!

Polos are cool. Gotta love em. But you need to compare apples with apples.

All my racing isnt off lights. Most of its rolling starts... (powercruise and ****. yeah..... :| )

I beat VE SS's to about like maybe 80 but then there is like no hope. lol. Torque band in them just overtakes.

So if i raced from 60-80 i could claim i won?????

I also just found some video footage of me in vw going from 60/220 beating an SR20DET s14..

Also some footage on youtube racing an xr5 which i beat quite considerably.

I know what our cars can and cant beat. Ive raced nearly everything more then once. If not atleast 5 times. I take the piss alot.

Guys, I used to daily a mk 1, with crappy paint, primered front end, poorly tuned, slower than pretty much everything on the road, standard wheels everything.

on paper, it's not a fast/quick car. I didn't look super cool or have the best wheels. and it defiantly didn't beat st on the street.

                  But.

Did I give a t. No. I choose to drive a busted mk 1, because I wanted to, and cause I enjoyed driving it. Yes I got bagged for driving a VW, for driving a 4 pot, for driving and old car, you name it I've copped it. Did I give two hoots? Nup. I didn't care what other people thought, I bought my car and drove it, cause I loved it. Not cause it was fast, or looked cool or ate SS commy's.

And yes, I could have afforded to buy a much newer/faster/safer/cooler car. I drove it cause I wanted to and didn't car what people thought.

Harden up. face it - Regardless of how fast a polo GTI is, it's still a lunchbox! Sure it's a neat package, and tuneable, and relatively quick etc etc etc. but it's still a hatchback, and will never have the "cool" image assosicated with [some] V8's.

If you can't handle the heat, by a SS or XR8. otherwise - stick it. be proud of your choice and be happy with what you havel, because it's what you wanted, not what other people think is cool.

If everyone started jumping off the harbour bridge would you follow?? No course not. duh...

                    I'll believe that Kai seriously!

                    Considering you've ran 13.8?

                    What was the MPH?

                      13.9 but was on semi's.

Ive got 24kw more since then.

Dunno what the 13.9 mph run was. But highest ive done is 104mph

Actually. Changing the exhaust manifold gave me even more power. (very supprised at that).. I might head out there again soonish.

Ive also got a different turbo inlet pipe to the lot of you. But its got the downside of heat soak. And an upside.....

Nice. With that MPH, it should come down even more.

Mid to low 13's is a nice street car!

The stock exhaust manifold's are restrictive as!

Only good for one thing. Straight into the scrap bin!

FWD is just ****. RWD yeah sure. But FWD is just so hard to get perfect.

Are you saying a stock VE SS crummydore will do 0->100 in under 5.5 seconds? Sorry ... just don't believe it.
