It's all good chief. Just needed to clear & straighten some stuff up.
I don't take anything personally either & love a good laugh!
Seem's as though Ausrotary has died off in the last year I reckon.
I'd love a 13b cosmo engined something oneday. Help's when you've got friend's who have pioneered rotary drag racing in oz too, if I was ever to get into one.
Engine shot Kai or send a PM. would love to know your setup!
None of that stuff is as cool as a Cast Iron 392 Hemi with a Littlefield 671 supercharger @ 25% O/D, alloy rods, CP pistons 7.2:1 compression, Enderle "Three Rib" constant flow mechanical injection and 90% Nitromethane!

Okay. So the first time ever. A rotary owner saying.
You've said this a few times and guessing it's referring to people claiming beating V8's and us paying out V8's.
First and foremost, please do not take this post as an attack in anyway!
People on this site (Polo GTI owners mainly) claim it when they beat V8 drivers because they are our biggest target. every tuner 4cyl driver wants to be quicker than a V8.....it's always been like that and always will be. you won't find many V8 drivers out there modding their cars or even buying them hoping to be quicker than a 4cyl...they expect that to come naturally.
as for us beating 'slow' V8's only, thats rubbish because i myself have knocked several newer models that on paper that should absolutely demolish me. in reagrds to this you can't speak on behalf of everyone and say i'm clearing/straightening stuff up. call it bad driving on their part or call it lucky on my part, but if that's the case, there's a hell of a lot of bad driver's out there and i must be consistently freakin' awesome (which i know i'm not). i'm not going to write a list of cars beaten but if you would like a list and other info, i'd be more than happy to PM details.
i suppose the dislike and bagging these V8's (well for me anyway) is because, as i said before, they are the main ones who like to rock up to the lights all high and mighty, make a sly remark, and then when they get beaten..... hurl abuse and try to run you off the road. i'm sure if or when they do beat us, they wouldn't hurl abuse because they won and thats what they wanted/expected. you may not be one of these people but there are a lot of them out there and you know it. they might not seem to care on the forums but on the street when trying to keep up with a 4cyl it's a different story.
us Polo GTI drivers cop it a lot on this forum from members saying "ohh you and your light speed Polo GTI and nothing can beat ". i won't cop that, why would we lie about what we've beaten, we have no reason to. if i beat something and i'm proud of it, i'll post it. at least i know my modding money has been well spent. all i can say to these petty remarks is "the truth hurts the less fortunate".
sorry for rambling on
preeny mate, nothing wrong with TDI's at all! throwing a chip in one of them and you're hauling ass (soo i've heard). didn't polo spec d put some awesome cars to shame at a track day when his TDI was stocko.
Hahaha I've got better things to do than race people on the street! Complete waste of time, money and parts!
As for the TDI.. Yeah sure they go ok.. But really... Who cares! Aslong as it has enough bang to do what you want with it, i'm all about having something that's a good all rounder for a daily driver. What's the point of having 10 squillion horsepower crammed into a shoebox that you can't use anyway?!
Polo GTI has a girly image because it looks girly and/or grandpa spec, sounds it standard and performs that way standard.
It would have less of a girly image if it performed like the class leaders do, that is, the RenaultSport Clio (172/182/197 regardless) or the now superseeded Peugeot 206 GTi180 or the new Turbo Cooper S or the coming Punto Abarth. It doesn't. Standard its starting at BA Falcon Taxi taillights.
As for "I race this, I beat that..." racing something on the street in your <insert whatever here> does not mean your car is actually faster. There are so many variables to list its not funny. A chipped Polo GTI (no other mods) is good competition for a standard Golf GTI. Or an AUII 200kW XR8. Or a standard pre-09 WRX. All this Chipped GTI vs VYII+ SS's, HSV's, AUIII+ XR8's etc is nonsense. Just because you beat some guy on the street means nothing.
Grouping drivers in a "demographic," based on their cylinder count is pretty stupid too. So why do people do it?
Actually, "I beat a V8," is so generalised its hilarious to read. What V8? A "V8," can be anything from a 1970s 3.5 V8 Range Rover that would struggle to fight off a stock Polo 1.6 to a Koenigsegg CCXR Edition that would destroy the fastest VAG car ever (Veyron), let alone a Polo and anything in between. So what "V8's," are being talked about. There are many of them.
