haha, funny this post came up, last night i had an idiot in a suzuki jimny (of all cars) drive up to my window and say "hey mate, nice girls car"....i proceeded to tell him "funny you should say that when my younger sister drives the same car as you". his passenger turned to him, pointed....and pissed himself laughing. he wound up his window and drove off in a huff.....

i've noticed its the people (well....bogans) in old V8 ford's and holden's that are generally the ones that make the comments. it always makes me laugh when i see them on the road flogging thier rust buckets. these old V8's will get smoked by a lot of new stock on the road these days but it doesn't worry these bogans....as long as there are 8 cylinders under the hood, they are f'n rockin' and no one's car is better.

if it's from the lights i'll just cruise in front, and pull into thier lane to rub it in.....9 times out of 10 they will have to catch up and about 10 seconds later they will fly past your window hurling abuse.

I still cop it from the brother in law... my VR6 is respectable, but apparently still missing a couple of cylinders.

he,he I get everyone saying "nice Golf Gti"..it could be the bonnet spray I dunno. I got after martket rims and I'm lowered, so I deviate from stock...my-ex girlfriend called it a girls car but well I guess I am...on weekends anyway.
Yes leaving testoterone fuelled v8 bogans behind is just about giving them a little "reality" check...nothing else.
What I love about the Polo Gti is....no theif would think to steal it...its very unassuming...has an great hidden element of surprise (if chipped) and is UNCOMMON on the roads...what more could you ask for??

I came from an MX5. 'Nuff said.

In the MX5 you do get egged on to race sometimes on the road. Whereas in a silver Polo you just don't get noticed.

Both are seen as easybeats which is part of the appeal. I don't, of course, condone any irresponsible behaviour on the road of course but I do love getting underestimated

now, i love polos, but your mentioning of the vr...... its too late. i wrote mine off too soon....... wok yooo@$%$@^$#^@@# my vr was short lived, but so emotive!!!!

we need to get a different section set up. on one hand it seems to be polo petrol turbo drivers, and it seems like in a few instances when a diesel pog owner posts, replies are limited to the diesel section. [or lack of interest because im scott??]

funny how people will believe that a 'girl's car' will stick it to a v8, yet it is unfathomable that a diesel will stick it to a 6........

I think you will find that V8 drivers have large egos that there cars are the fastest things in the world. And that it gives them a reality check when a polo is faster.

I dont think if you beat a 6 cylinder anyone would care too much. Most people driving them dont know anything about cars.

I've actually found that Polo GTI driver's are worse than V8 driver's & think they can flog anything that's out on the road's incl. 12 sec car's! haha.

If I get beaten by a Polo GTI (hasn't happened yet) or any car for that matter. I don't really care. My car is stock with diff. gear's! whacko!

I very much agree. Why is it that these Poolo threads always end with someone saying that V8 drivers are bogans and that their Poolo will wipe its .. with anything that lines up against it? Both are incorrect.
