A really fat power bulge at around 4800rmin translates into wheelspin whilst on the move already in 2nd midway through, never mind at gearchange.

I'd have to say I'd prefer my 131kw that is a lot smoother. That peak is nice, but what a horrible looking curve.

i reckon V2 would smooth that curve out a lot and help get that all down on the road.

and johan, i think sam's just upset that your silver Polo is better .

      • I too think V2 might sort that dip in the curve out ... so I'm considering it. If I don't like it I'll go back as I quite like the power as it is now.

A curve does not have to look pretty, it just need to provide lost of power across a broad rev range, which is what I have now. Further tuning of the Forge diverter might help as well.

and yes, Sam's just jealous ...... I'm up 8kw on him now and I doubt an APR FMIC is going to let him catchup either ...

Having a silver Polo make almost 140kw atw must be too much to bear ....

            • I don't even know what version APR chip mine is. What is the difference in the power curves? Which ever version I got, Already I have noticed that even though the power increase is immense, it still is a very smooth power gain. Especially noticable in 2nd through 3rd gears.

Come again? The curve directly maps power delivery... if its all over the shop its not going to provide power in a usable fashion.

                            • Thanks chipped. I'm guessing V1 has the power more up top?

And Bump you wont regret it. Its likely dropping off your car and picking up a new more powerful one. Are you getting the dogbone mount upgrade at the same time? If it can be squeezed in your budget I'd highly advise. A very cheap and very noticable addon. When you look at the power gains I think its a wise move. You've got around 38% more HP but 50% more torque and that is a massive increase.

And yes you are about to embark in a whole new "relationship" with your car. Trouble with this part of the year is there is an huge police presence on the road. I'm definately in for a ticket any tick of the clock now! lol

Also one thing I have noticed since we have just had a very hot day is that heatsoak issue you guys have been talking about is very noticable on a 38deg day! Feels quite sluggish compared to first thing in the morning for instance. So much so I am seriously looking at a FMIC the very next thing I do to it.

Yep that 38degreer wasn't so fun...roll on winter again!!
I'm hoping for a good tax return next financial so Uncle Kev can by me an FMIC.
