What about this for a possible fix in the event our standard TIP is collapsing under boost...

Grab a clamp. fit it around the outside of the plastic pipe and put some adhesive on it.. Dont put the clamp on too tight just snug..

Then on boost the clamp may act as a brace.. to hold the TIP in place.. not collapse inwards...

Ill try it on mine and let you know if we still have problem..

interesting idea although personally I would just prefer to get a forge TIP and be done with it. Can anyone comment whether the forge TIP is any bigger in size or is just that its reinforced? After checking my stock TIP I did notice that when its very warm its pretty soft & squishy and is most likely collapsing in on itself.

The Forge TIP is wrapped internally with wire to prevent collapse. It is also a braoder diameter than the standard TIP along most of the length.

Ill try bracing the standard TIP.. A few clamps on the outside in key areas and it should hold together..

Careful gettin 1 in Perth tho, unless you can fit it yourself, it might be hard to get some1 that can do it for you....

Someone try to block the air to the N75?

Just to see what can happen?

N75 does not work off air, it works on the principle of boost,
It bleeds the boost back into the intake...

Yes, but it controls the WG actuator.

If you block the pressurized air from pass thru it, the surge can be stabilized.

The surge problem is associated with a weak WG actuator and slow N75 control.

Update is. No one in Perth will install the TIP But we have an offer from a very kind Brissy-boy to fly over and do them. So Perth Polo Gti owners who want a TIP and want it installed I suggest buying one from Shaneth and PM me or TGo re: installation.
                          Thanks Mozz

Did ya? Didn't receive a PM from ya? Try again perhaps?

yeah I am pretty disappointed that our Perth mechanics don't seem up for the task of installation. Its quite bizarre really. Oh well I am sure we can work something out in the end I guess.

Its weird, cos its not like its a hard job anyway. It takes about 2 to 3 hours to do, and you only need a 13mm socket, extentions and ratchet, both phillips and flat tip screw drivers, and a st of multi grips.
