A bit off track - but what's the difference between APR V1 and V2? What do you get with a standard ECU upgrade?

There are a few threads on it mate. But i think the general point is its just when the power is delivered. ie. V2 earlier in the rev range aand V1 a little later on. There are back to back dyno runs and the difference i think was only a couple of kw. Im sure one of the apr guys will chime in.

Kai how do you expect to find that out unless you do it yourself. And faster in what way a track or a drag. There would be so many variables that everyone will call BS on anything thats said. Its just like asking whats faster a golf or a polo. (not digging at anyone).
But hey your an SR man just put that in.
Having said that this is getting way off topic. so lets keep it to the surging issue.

Yeah this surging is quite odd. I have been trying to get it to do it again to no avail. If it is the stock TIP collapsing I wonder why it happens in 3rd gear mid RPM and not when the car is screaming its guts out when you take it through the gears on a hard run?
I've been doing a bit of reading on on diverter valves and BOVs and from I can tell this surge seems to be more attributed to a poor diverter valve. The stock valve is so tiny it wouldn't supprise me if it can't handle the extra power from the chip tune. But without actually seeing the TIP perform under load its a bit of a guess I think.
It will be interesting to see if this surging gets any worse. Could very well be the TIP getting softer and softer the more use its getting along with the very hot temps here in Perth at the moment making it worse.APR V2 Tuned, APR Dogbone mount, APR R1 DV, K&N Panel Filter, SEAT Intake, Forge TIP & FSB, Bilstein & H&R, Whiteline RSB, Full Milltek 2.5" exhaust

I think the problem is not at the DV, it is probably at the WG actuator, or something related to the N75. Lots of dyno plots show the same “roller coaster” problem, all tests are supposed to be done in third gear.Originally posted by mozzzy_2000 View PostYeah this surging is quite odd. I'm running APR and after reading this the other day took it for a run over the weekend trying to get mine to do this.
Unfortunately I can't get mine to replicate it. I'm running stock TIP, DV, etc. Only "mods" apart from the APR are SEAT intake and K&N filter. Anyways, I tried it in 2nd, 3rd and 4th ... I can't get mine to do it ... I'm happy about that, but in some ways dissapointed that I can't blame my TIP or DV for being crap and justify more spending

Since when is justification needed?Originally posted by DeanB View Post... I'm happy about that, but in some ways dissapointed that I can't blame my TIP or DV for being crap and justify more spending
Just ... keep quiet about it ... or say: "That old thing ... had it for years." Or: "It IS a standard part ... it was just missing on delivery."

I make no comment about the endless clothes, shoes, etc she purchases .... but she likes to comment on "another expensive bit for your toy". Somehow her spending on clothing and me spending on car parts don't compare in her mind .... women !!Originally posted by DaveMack View PostSince when is justification needed?
