    Where's your info from?

I've only ever heard 20% for FWD, 25% for RWD and 30% for AWD or something like that.

yeah i'm 99% sure those are the correct figures. i have asked several mechanics and also our last dyno operator (who seemed to be very knowledgable), and they have all said pretty much the same thing. they have all given a percentage range ~3-4% on those numbers above.....for manual cars.

i didn't ask the real "drivetrain loss professor" however....google

I have no idea what you are talking about.... However if you keep on this topic which was about Unitronic and do a search I am sure I have seen it before were and I think I'm right where Timbo posted once about 15-20% figure for fwd

Good to discuss anyways. I do agree with Tosspot in regards to difference % loss on different wheel layout. Having said that, 20% is too much loss assuming the drivetrain are in good condition

Take a look at the dyno graph of fully stock FD2 Civic Type R K20A rated 225PS:

                  15% loss

                  193ps on wheel
                  227ps on engine

                  20% loss

                  193ps on wheel
                  241ps on engine

All cars are obviously different, but so are all dynos. Also, many car manufacturers understate their figures while tuners tend to overstate. Which is how we got onto this *looks at REVO*

I was asking a genuine question as to where he got it from.

Dubsteve posted google, which wasn't the case.

Haha, no harm in discussion anyways, disagreement doesn't mean punching each other face to face

I've seen it discussed here before, but never those figures. That's why I asked.

Stop hijacking threads to try to be cool with the useless crap you post. This has been a useful discussion without your interjections.

I'm not hijacking I am just saying that this has been discussed before and the fact that its about Unitronic chips not dynos, if anything it should be put on a new thread about dyno readouts.

I put google as a link so it can be used as a search engine a far greater one than a forum if you ask me even though this forum is a great wealth of knowledge to anyone.
