Shane who has the same set-up as Lucas would also be making 250kw+

Now feel free to post up all the VAG revo cars that are making 200kw+ ATW's using revo software/tuning in Australia
    Excuse me?

Are you claiming all these cars have GIAC software & off the shelf parts? I thought Lucas ran Autronic software - same with Shane? - I'm not sure about Nils, but certainly Marco's car is about 30kw short & due to problems he's been forced into installing boost controllers to correct for software issues.

And your car that made 242kw's at the wheels - was that in 2wd mode? - At that Canberra dyno where a stock GTI's were making 137kw @ wheels? - That an off the shelf Giac tune?

Just curious as you throw all these numbers around without any explanation for the figures. I'm not sure how many hours you have spent with Polo's on the dyno, and how many data logs you have of them - you seem to want to speak out against any other product, but you provide no factual data to back it up?

Lucas and Shane run Autronic hardware , mainly due to no high impedance injectors larger than 870cc available (these apparently are out of production as well and only 830's are available) . They still run a Giac code that is available . Off the shelf parts , well , there is 3 cars with this kit and a fourth getting built , its not as custom as it was before having so many cars running same hardware .
      Nils was running Giac chip
Marco's car had hardware issues , once these are sorted he can go back onto the dyno and see what the cars doing .

yeah my car made 242 atws in Canberra in fwd mode . That was a bolt on kit from Del Rio that is available off the shelf . So what if a stock gti made 137 , same car made 140 at the Sydney dyno day .

I dont understand why dyno numbers need an explanation , I guess you'll question 1/4 mile times as well ? How long have I spent with Polo's on the dyno , and how many logs , well , not many to be honest , Giac is paid to provide the tune and that is where the research comes from . Anyway , who says I was speaking out against a product , I just see no factual evidence that any other chip company in Australia has as powerful VAG cars as Giac . If you wish to correct me , feel free .

So you provide no evidence that Giac has the most powerful Polo in AUS? show us you proof & we will believe it.

As we recently proved on a dyno up here with 6 individual polo's - if you have the same operator, same dyno, same day & same procedure - you will get EXACTLY the same results. If you tie it down differently, change the tyre pressure's - change a dyno setting, or heaven forbid, have 5 degree's of heatsoak - you will readings that will vary 20kw.

How long have I spent with Polo's on the dyno , and how many logs , well , not many to be honest , Giac is paid to provide the tune and that is where the research comes from .
How many Polo's have GIAC had in their US facility? Must have cost a bomb to fly them over there? - Please elaborate on how they tuned it.

Please point out where in this thread does anyone mention that "GIAC has the most powerful Polo in Aus"?

...it's implied that at 137 atw, it's the most powerful. despite all the official power claims from tuning company websites, most seem to hit mid-120s atw in Polos. If their claims aren't or can't be substantiated with robust testing or evidence, then are they engaging in false advertising? this applies to all tuners...

I thought it was common knowledge it didn't make 137kw with just a chip.

My APR'd Polo made 106kw atw. best

                      It's not a war, it's a discussion.

it's not a war, it's a discussion - as long as everyone sticks to the facts, it's ok. I find this thread more interesting and informative than threads about ppl cleaning their cars, now THAT'S boring !!

I think if this stays as a rational discussion it's valid... especially seeing as GIAC is apparently getting a couple of new distributors, including one in SEQ.

If the tuners were prepared to submit their product for controlled, independent testing, ie same dyno, cars, conditions etc, then we'd a better insight into what claims were real and what weren't. Maybe we should contact Choice magazine and get them to do it
