MY15 GTI engine oil?

Hey guys,

I just purchased my first VW and I looked through the manual and it states that I need to use 502 00 approved oils for my engine. The issue is that I can only find either 0w-40 or 5w-40 oils with this approval but I called a dealer and they said it requires 5w-30. I was just wondering if anyone knew what I need to use or where I can get an oil that is 502 00 approved and 5w-30.

The main reason for this is because I would rather do my own engine oil changes every so often for my own purposes. And it would make topping up the oil level easier as I do not always have the time to go to the dealer for it.

It will be 504/507 rating that you need, 502/505 is the older rating. Penrite Enviro+ 5w-30 is about $80 for 5L and can be sourced at Supercheap/Repco etc. It is approved for modern VW/Audi/Skoda engines.
