Good luck with that. The 6R Polo has been out for 6 years now and they still haven't got the DQ200 DSG right and they likely never will.

Take it back. Took mine back. The clutches may have misaligned and worn unevenly.

I have had a 2015 Polo GTI for about 6 weeks, over the past 2 days the car has developed a thunk/ thump noise when shifting from 2nd into 3rd whilst using paddle shifters or in semi-automatic mode. This noise /(rough change) does not happen in 'D' or 'S' or in any other gear. Car has only done about 1200kms.

Any ideas before I head to VW tomorrow ??????
The aftermarket DSG tune fixes this and all other gearbox issues. Just had it done to mine

Called My Dealer and the service department is still getting back to me. Picked Y demo up with 4500Ks on it, now has 55xx And the 2nd-3rd Clunk is happening.

Anyway if blowing up at them and getting my money back, Or a New GTI.

I also looked, The inspection Checklist was done 7th month last year and i took Delivery in the 12th Month, Can i catch them out on this? Arent they meant to do a Pre Delivery Check up list?

                Good luck..

Fair trading law states that if the vehicle has factory warranty on it and the service departments attempts to fix the issue (successful or not) then you are not entitled to a return or new vehicle.

There may be a clause in your terms of sale in regards to a 21 day cooling off period..

If the vehicle has attempted to be fixed and the dealer has come back with "a characteristic of the vehicle" and the vehicle still operates... then it is operating as intended (to take you from point A to point B)

Your next step is to phone VW customer care to have the issue escalated.

                  Hi all,

Have any of you noticed that the thumping is reduced/goes away when the engine is really hot (oil temp 104 deg) with the A/C on.
                  Any of you experienced this?

If it helps some people, my gti had the clunking thumping issue. Started at about the 3-4000km range and lasted till 9000ks. I took the car for a drive to surfers paradise and back from Sydney and have not had any issues since then! Now heres is where it gets worse, took it for a 15K service last week and noticed a new springy sound when cruising in 3rd gear. Anyway the dealer had a look and the clutch pack is F'D!
So jump on it straight away and get them to book in a thorough test and in my case a "new and improved" clutch pack which will supposedly fix the issue. VW hasnt sent the new clutch pack in yet so im just waiting for the call to have the repair done when the parts arrive from Deutschland.

As and when you have the new clutch pack fitted I'd be very interested to know the part numbers which are used. Had our 7 speeder "fixed" 15 months back however I've read there may be yet another set of parts now being installed since then.

Will be 2 weeks tomorrow since i Took mine in, they did the reset and slfteare update, still the same. It has to be a hardware problem, gonna keep on their back, not sure they dont admit it needs a new clutch pack or tranny, they like to beat around the bush

                              Hey all,

Here to give you an insider update. Had my DSG box flashed to a new software level. My banging into gear from 2nd into 3rd is gone.
Unfortunately the software isn't available at the dealers yet. Hang in their, it should be released shortly (in 1 months time).
