patience grasshopper. It's not the end of the month yet.

If you could buy elsewhere for $1k less then the free servicing would be irrelevant. I'm not sure why everyone gets a hard-on for having an apprentice work on their car. Dealerships suck.

Shop around - the dealer knows you are desperate to buy

      Thanks for the advice.

I just want to buy sooner than later as my current car is due for rego in 2 months and want to palm that off asap.

Might have to be flexible on colours if i can't find a white one

Like you I am busting to buy a new Polo Gti or if the budget can stretch...to a Golf Gti (+10k!). My partner says that I have to wait till October so I am trying really hard to be patient. Just had to renew rego as well as an impending service in a couple of weeks so have no choice but to wait

Not sure what people's financials are yet at the end of the day a $1000-$3000 isn't that much cash. Not like when buying $80,000 car you can get $10,000 -$15,000. That's a large couch of change for almost all middle class people.

It GTI seems well priced if paying retail or getting a few thousand off.

You know you can use any dealer for repairs and servicing right? But it depends who is offering to pay for your free service, the dealer or VW Australia.

Our Polo comfort line was bought 75km form where I live and we have a dealer 3km away. They didn't budge on price. But I'll still service it there (but no free servicing for me).

To get the free 3 years of serving they are offering, i was told that i have to use their dealer for the 3 year period.

Like Brad said though, nothing is "free" i guess it has been pretty much incorporated into the price....hence why they wouldn't budge on the $30 945!!

The problem with anything tied to a specific dealer is that they might go belly-up (eg: Bryan Byrt in QLD) before you've used the incentive. I'd rather a discount right now than a promise of something further down the road.

Nice one Dan, could look at it as $28'300 + $1700 for the DA pack.

Yea Im happy with the price but i think nowadays the driver assist pack should be on as standard. Cant wait to pick it up its a hoot to drive. Glad i never went with the Fiesta ST.

Dealer wasn't too happy with the price and almost let me walk out at $30500 but before i got up they agreed to $30k, seems like the margins on these are not that great for the dealers. I was trying to push for $28k on road at the start lol.

Fiesta ST is still a better drivers car and its actually made in Germany unlike the Polo GTi.

They have the margins they just rather make more profit these days.

In any case you did well for a fairly newly launched car.. =) Enjoy

I ended up paying 29,900 for a new white manual no options....could probably of got them done a bit closer to 29k but was sick of arguing over a few hundred bucks. They did throw in some floor mats with it though too. Pick it up sometime this week, can't wait!!!

That's what they like to tell you. It's all part of the theatre.

I bought a new TV on the weekend. The guy reckoned he made $5 profit but it only took him 5 minutes of to come down from $2199 to $1937. He knew what his bottom line was & still make money.

Do you mean the red trimmed ones? The salesman told me they were a standard feature.
