Hi everyone I'm new to forum, I'm in market for polo gti,
I've test driven one today, its manual no extra options in red
it goes hard, very punchy engine and you can feel lots of torque,
anyway I recon they would sale it to me for $29000 with extra 2 year
warranty (warranty is $1800). How does VW warranty work with APR tuning??

Very interesting thread with so many different points of view, i'm currently negotiating a deal on a new Polo GTI Manual in Deep Black Pearl Effect, 2016 build and compliance, also with both Luxury and Driver Assist packs, list price is $37,359 and have got them down to $34,359. Have spoken to a few dealers now and this seems to be the going rate for an off the boat GTI as apposed to a 2015 Built MY16 in stock which is a few grand cheaper (If you can find one)
I drove both Manual and DSG and i wanted to get the DSG as i have a MK6 Golf R with DSG, Unfortunately with the Polo having the dry clutch 7 speed unit it was quite disappointing, the shifts were a bit clunky in all modes while its still quite good you really notice those 70nm less torque and it make the manual a much better drive imo. The Polo GTI will be for the wife and she preferred the drive in the manual too. Still the best bang for your buck car in that market segment, with all the options it leaves anything else in its price range for dead, i'll keep you posted

Mazda 3 reviews are a prime example, when we bought the 118TSI for my wife we also looked at Mazda 3s' and the very first thing I noticed was how damn noisy they were. It was so bad that when I got home I looked up every review that I could find, local and international, and not one of them mentioned the road/tyre noise. Just recently I've noticed that it's starting to be commented on, mostly in reference to the new model which is supposed to be quieter. So the old model wasn't noisy until the new model's press release pointed it out. I can still remember when reviews included noise metre readings, absolute data used to be important, but you are so right, much easier to copy/paste.Originally posted by brad View PostIndeed. You wouldn't think copy/pasting out of a press release would be that hard!

If you tune the VW scanner will pick it up and flag it to VW HQ. Then your warranty on the driveline will be at risk.Originally posted by LJ1981 View Post$29000 with extra 2 year

Waste of time getting the extra 2 years if you intend to tune (IMO).carandimage The place where Off-Topic is On-Topic

I have the apr tune on mine, if you're worried you can always get the tune removed, take it to get services and then afterwards get the tune reinstalled...Originally posted by brad View PostIf you tune the VW scanner will pick it up and flag it to VW HQ. Only the standard Polo, not sure if you need to option the driver assistance pack to get it with the city AEB. The GTI only has standard cruise.Originally posted by timsimms View PostJust got a quote for dsg, silk blue for 34k... Waiting to see if he will drop the price more. Question, does the polo GTI have adaptive cruise control? I keep seeing conflicting info.

I got mine, same spec, for $34250 September last year (MY16). In hindsight I feel I could of knocked a few hundred or more off that price. Very happy with the car and the luxury & DAP.Originally posted by Frazza View PostVery interesting thread with so many different points of view, i'm currently negotiating a deal on a new Polo GTI Manual in Deep Black Pearl Effect, 2016 build and compliance, also with both Luxury and Driver Assist packs, list price is $37,359 and have got them down to $34,359.

Yeah for sure, At the moment it seems that $34,359 is the going discounted price, i spoke to a few dealers in Brisbane and they all came down to that figure give or take a few hundred. I have since spoken to a friend of a friend who's a dealer and he said pretty much the same as VW have no factory bonus on the GTI and almost all are being sold off the boat before they arrive. The only way to get a deal is a no option car thats in stock, found a few of those that you can get sweet deals on, Found a Red DSG with no options for $27,500.Originally posted by nickit78 View PostI got mine, same spec, for $34250 September last year (MY16). But if you want manual and the full kit you just gotta pay the extra and really its still a sweet deal. The Polo is actually for the wife but still pretty stoked to be getting it.
