  • Hey what's up guys? I ordered a Polo 81tsi Manual in black with Driver Comfort pack, floor mats and boot liner for $21,600.
    Ordered 31/1/15.
    Got to Melbourne 23/3/15.

How long does it take from dock to the dealer?

I'd love it if I could have it by Easter!

my dealership advised me that it would take about 10 working days as inspections need to be carried out prior to delivery. I'm also getting rear sensors fitted which I believe will be done at the dealership itself. so that may contribute to the 10 days as well.

      • I think most people here are paying a too much.

However I did find VW a lot harder to haggle with compared to other brands I've purchased.

That would be handy if it could be given to me that fast. Judging by how long they promised you it should be less of a wait for me but I guess we'll find out.

Ps. Congrats on your new Polo! Enjoy it!

            • Yeah just wait for the dealer to call. The dealer I'm dealing with updated me every couple of weeks. I pick up my Polo this Thursday. So will have taken 17 days from ship to me which is around average considering Easter holidays.

              • So I just ordered a 66TSI Peppercorn Grey, arriving in July! Coming from a 9n3 Polo GTI as now 4 doors will be more convenient.

16,490 with slimline black plates, matts and fuel.. wouldn't give me window tinting

                • Hi all, new to the forums so go easy on me I don't know much about cars so bear with me.

I'm looking at purchasing a Polo 81TSI DSG. Would it be best to wait until EOFY sales or to grab one now? I'm looking at buying it with the driving comfort and sports pack which adds up to about ~$25,600 driveaway. Has anyone had much luck bargaining, and would paying cash up front make much difference at all?

How old is the current model, and if there is a new one coming out soon, will there be a significant difference in features/quality to warrant waiting or paying the extra?

Sorry for all the noob questions. I've never bought a brand new car before, let alone spend this much money on anything in one go so am a little nervous Thanks in advance.

Usually the dealers love to make the extra commission on selling you a loan as well.... but for *you* paying cash upfront will save *thousands* in interest

Best bargaining trick I (inadvertently) found out was bring along your partner/gf/wife and have them rubbish the car and say it's too expensive and you can't afford it and don't need it and they're getting hungry and want to go etc. etc. while you are bargaining for the price of the car. If it's the right time of the month and the salesperson wants to sell a car, this will avoid some of the annoying back-and-forth "let me go see what the boss says" crap the salesperson always does...

                    • Thanks for your help. It seems like it's probably worth waiting for EOFY sales after doing some googling as they sometimes include on road costs. Can't wait to get my hands on this car

                      • Ended up going for the Golf 90TSI Comfortline with DAPII. Decided to spend the extra as it appears to be a much better car for the money Should have it within the next 2-3 weeks.

                            $15900 is a good price.

I paid $16250 for the same (66TSI, Sunset Red, free mats and tank of fuel), but they had it in stock, so my bargaining power was limited as they held me ransom with offering pickup immediately if I paid 16250. I still got it cheaper than retail, but not as good a deal as yours.

Can anyone beat 15900 for a 66TSI + Metallic paint & floor mats?

You shouldn't have to feel like you can't bargain - They need you more than you need them. Always be prepared to walk away.
