So my little eBay inbox tells me that a whole host of goodies are on the way to my house including the OEM black tails.

When I get back to Sydney in a couple of weeks I'm going to do a full video on the installation of the lights as well as a bunch of other stuff I'm putting on.

I ordered a set of mudflaps too cause they were pretty cheap. Cant decide in my head if i want them or not but will throw them on and have a look.

Just the thread I was after.

I had ordered the smoked tail lights from Dectane.de. But their CC told me that the lights won't fit on our RHD vehicle. So they cancelled my order and refunded me. Hence I ordered the smoked EU style OEM tail lights from ebay tuning fanatics or whatever they are called. Should be safer with conversion and people here have helped with steps for detailed conversion and installation. The VW service centre is willing to install them for free.

It's been more than a month and the lights are stuck in Mumbai Customs office. Will post pics once I install them.

LOVE these tails. ONLY thing needed once you get them is to pull out the fog lens from the LHS tail.

Unfortunately canceled the Dectanes as they had another 6 weeks delivery, on top of the initial 8 or so!!! Would be a tad harder to mod them, but not difficult.

Here is something I'd love to do though, rear reverse lights X2... but then we would need to wire the fog to a custom light.. Like below (which I think looks great, albeit F1 ricey).

My smoked black tail lights have arrived. The only problem I am having is to remove the red fog light lens. Please help.

Melt them out into smaller pieces with a soldering iron. Too easy!

Thanks will try that. Just noticed that one of the tail lights right one has slight broken red centre circle. The red plastic is broken that inside yellow light bleeds out. does spoil the looks a bit. Shall I return them? Just my worst luck they came defective!

Anyone got an idea how to lay hands on that center single fog light? (I guess it would have to be the whole lower plastic bumper plus the light plus wiring?)


I've had a single reverse light in my previous car, I have a twin light now, and the difference is clearly visible, so I would like to do this to my Polo as well when it arrives.

When you say pull the fog lens out is that just a plastic covering or something on the left hand side? I have these lights on the way to my door now and would appreciate any info.
