Not sure if DRL changes are possible in non-GTI polos, AFAIK its all hardwired and not config'd via software. Could be different in newer model years though.

So I went to the VW dealership for the second time today to try and get my faulty touch adapter fixed and after about 4 hours of my time, plus fuel and toll charges they have told me that it is not an issue that they can fix and that VW are waiting to get a firmware update. I have written to VW assistance politely explaining my frustration as they refused to even code out the touch adapter for me even though it is problematic! Not impressed to say the least but I am looking forward to what they have to say...

Hi all~~just got my new 77tsi couple days ago...love it though..there is a small thing bothering me...the bluetooth adapter will sometimes NOT be turned on when ignition is switched on (I hv to unplug it than put it back to let it be on), which from my understanding from the manual it should automatically be on....

just wondering is it normal? or some of u experience the same...

It's a piece of junk in every car. Does not always start up with the car, does not end call with the phone, freezes up, crap audio quality. VW has their head in the sand over how faulty and useless they actually. Even replacement won't solve the issues. How hard is it to order cars with RCD510 as standard specification. My advice is to program is out via VCDS and opt for a Bury dock or leave the base plate blank and control the phone via the above head unit.

Couldn't agree more, I got two replacements for the touch adapter and they just seemed to be getting worse and worse.

hey guys, my MY12 GTI (bought 2nd hand) doesn't have the dongle and there seems be to be nothing to indicate it was removed after the fact and then the holes filled up etc. Does it mean that the original buyer had it removed from the factory? It has the RCD 510 and I can stream music via BT, however, no controls via steering, MFD or the head unit.

Does it has an antenna like that? (note the sharkfin-esc base) and a mount for the dongle, ala the pics in the first post of this thread?

If not, then yes its a MY12 Polo not the MY12.5 that got BT standard, so the BT is a retrofit of some kind with a more basic unit.

Anyone bought the iPhone 6 bury cradle? If so, how snug is it? Would the phone fit in the cradle if it had a case on it as well?

I've briefly tried to fit my iPhone 6 into the universal cradle that I bought 2 years ago, and it seems that it might be a tad too large for the cradle...

If you don't have a giant, square hole, your car did not have it.

I just bought the XXL version, which is big, but also means I can sit the 6 in there with a cover. Notes say the Plus will also fit - cant see why it wouldn't

The hard part is getting a Bury Lightning cable. Everyone seems to be selling Micro-USB cables with lightning adaptors.

You can get a short mini usb to usb adapter then connect a normal lightning cable to that.

Hi Guys, I have a MY13.5 Polo GTi and I'm trying to get my head around the touch pad. After having read this tread from start to finish I am a little wiser I think. What is the actual purpose of the touch pad anyway, am I right to believe it allows for improved reception via the roof mounted aerial. Are there any other benefits over what I currently do by using the controls on the steering wheel?

I have also tried the voice control options without success. It can't understand what I'm asking other than when I say cancel.

I would be interested in buying the iphone cradle from VW and someone mentioned it is priced around $230. Do I understand correctly that buying the cradle from VW I won't need any coding and the purpose of the cradle would be for charging/storage and connection to the car aerial? I would still be using the phone via the steering controls.
