I have just read the whole thread and am a little confused about a problem I'm having. I have a my13 polo gti and originally paired to the touch adaptor but then found I couldn't use Bluetooth audio streaming so changed to vw phone which works great. Problem is now my touch adaptor doesn't seem to have a purpose. Is it possible to use both in conjunction with each other if I wanted and still have bt audio?

I also have an issue where I have unplugged the touch adaptor to check it out and now I can't seem to reconnect with it. It says error connect to uhv or something. Any ideas?

You can connect to one or the other, but not both.

just a quick question as i am bit confuse. can i get a bury 9 xl cradle and repalce the touch adaptor without recoding? i am using the rcd510 directly and just want to use the cradle for holding my phone. so i just want to do as little as possible.

My wife just bought a new Polo with the RDC310 and bluetooth touch adaptor (which is next to useless), I've found this iPhone 5 cradle on ebay, if I buy this for her will it be plug and play or is coding necessary?

Just been in my wifes Polo, there are no bluetooth options via the MFD (her car only has the RCD310).

I'm assuming that your wife either has a Trendline or Comfortline Polo, not a GTI. All models below the GTI have the not-so-fancy basic MFD which doesn't allow control of Bluetooth settings/phone book etc.
Because the car has the RCD 310, and no way of controlling Bluetooth directly through the MFD, then re-coding will be necessary to allow a Bury cradle to work. If you didn't want to code anything, then you can buy VW-branded Bury cradles through VW dealers and, while more expensive, they don't require coding, although I'm sure someone on this forum who has VCDS would be happy to help you code the Bury cradle.

Yes he car is a Comfortline with sports option (fogs, 17" alloys and lower suspension) and possibly the comfort option (it has climatetronic and auto wipers).

Is anyone else having an issue where dialing a number or selecting a 'favorite' from the phone menu in the RCD510 displays a 'dial-up failed' error message? It did it with my iPhone 4S and iOS 6.X.X and now on my 5S with 7.0.3. Not sure what it could be. I checked the software version of my Touch Adapter and it appears to be current. Any ideas? My local dealer wasn't particularly interested in helping me, but this is the part number for the VW branded iPhone 5 cradle 3C0 051 435 CQ, you can buy them online and no coding is needed.

Does anybody know why the bluetooth intermittently connects the RCD510, the car still has the touch adaptor (which we don't pair to), sometimes when my wife gets into the car it connects to the RCD, other times it won't, bloody frustrating.

Is it the touch adaptor that's conflicting with the RCD510?

Problem is if I unplug the touch adaptor bluetooth stops working completely!

Try this... turn on blue tooth on your phone before engine start.
Make your mobile forget the touch adaptor.
