I am getting the same loose fitment with my Bury universal XL. I guess filing down these those two plastic knobs will let it fit in nicely. Anyone else with the Bury Universal Mount having this issue? The back is flat. The same as this photo posted above:

Yes it does say system 9 on the front and it does have the same square docks on the bottom. I'm guessing the solution is to dremmel some grooves into the bury unit so it fits. Are the locating "bumps" on the base circled in yellow in this picture very worn on yours? mine may not be as I never used to take the thing in and out much.


Here's a video showing the difference between touch adapter and bury unit, I no longer have my Genuine VW iphone 4 handyadapter but it did also fit very well and easily like the touch adapter does.

Same here - the universal xl doesn't fit completely into the baseplate. The phone still charges fine, though, and it fits snug enough that it doesn't move significantly even when I insert/remove the phone. Not sure about the antenna, but also not sure how to test that as I live in the CBD of Adelaide and get mostly full bars everywhere irrespective of the bury system or not.

I notice on a bumpy road, and using maps, the phone moves around more than I would expect with a mounted phone.
I am going to try and file down these two knobs so it sits in flush. Hopefully it works.

did some scouring on the internet and found this guy on amazon.de that modified the bury xl to fit int he vw bury cradle

I've got the Universal XL cradle and it is also tight fitting. Its not really an issue..

Are you able to tell me if you got the cradle fitted in Perth? And where? I'm having a hard time trying to find someone to fit it for me.

I currently have my Nexus 5 setup so bluetooth phone conenction connects to the touch adapter and the audio component goes to the VW Phone (which seems to be the RCD 310). When it works its acceptable, but it often fails to connect for some reason or another and the steering wheel controls do not work.

I had read somewhere recently (sorry cant remember where) there was a firmware upgrade to the touch adapter to allow stereo bluetooth rather than the mono that is currently produces.

Also wanted to see if anyone had any experiences with a bluetooth product called ViseeO Tune2Air WMA1000. It claims it can connect to the MDI and allow for streaming and display track information. It should also allow for the steering wheel controls to work as if an ipod was connected.
