Email Notifications Failing (mostly Telstra)
Hello everyone. Seems there is an issue with Telstra (possible others) blocking email from our server. If you are trying to sign up I would suggest a different email if possible. If you're trying to reset your password and it fails please use the Contact Us page:
I've yet to see a pic of what the universal dock looks like with the cables plugged in.
Also, how do you simply plug in the USB-Lightning adapter or do you get another USB cable?
Does this allow the iphone to connect to the antenna, or just power?
you just get a micro usb to lighting adapter from apple, they are super small and dont add much to cable length, it works wonderfully
yes it charges.
you will have to connect the phone via bluetooth to stereo, but remember even with the iphone cradle its still bluetooth, ie:
iphone cradle: phone docked to cradle, cradle connects via bluetooth to stereo
universal: phone docked to cradle for power only, phone connects via bluetooth to stereo
does not matter, since both ways, ur phone is charging and you get all control functions, track control, volume, phone answering, track info on Stereo.
you will need a RCD510 system for universal but, yiu should upgrade from RCD310 in any case.
btw, the universal is better because 1) any phone works without different cradles 2) you can position it 360, ie landscape, portrait, 45, whatever you want.
BUT to get it to work you need:
1) RCD510+ system not RCD310
2) Code out the touch adapter bluetooth
3) Update to date bluetooth unit (if you have 2011+ polo you already have it)
nice!
long shot but does the base cradle include an external antenna?
The Bury System 9 cradles connect to the Bury System 9 baseplate connector in the car (where the touch-adaptor plugs in). Which in turn connects to power, and the car's external GSM antenna.
There's no antenna in the cradle itself. This is paraphrased from the Bury Site, and confirmed from experience with the iPhone 4 version of the dock.
Looks exactly like the one from the iPhone 4, but a little taller.

sorry it was late and my word selection was less than ordinary
now that ive had sleep and a coffee what i meant to say was:
The base plate, considering it was installed for the bluetooth module, did they (vw) install the GPS/GSM/NextG antenna with it or is it just power?
GPS/GSM Antenna in the car to my knowledge.
If you get the Universal dock however, your ability to connect to the antenna may be limited by your combination of cables and/or phone.
I'm hesitant to recommend a particular provider - but a search on google for bury "system 9" cradle iphone 5 gave me a few Australian sellers.
Cheapest I found including shipping was $91
