Getting rid of the Touch Adapter is great. Many (belated) thanks to readerr0r for his expertise the other week. I am very happy with my Bury Universal cradle. I can now also use my phone's GPS navigation effectively with it sitting in the cradle as well as not having to use the awful Touch Adapter thing. The only downside is I am restricted to the size of the phone which fits into the cradle. Perhaps Bury will make a larger version for all the newer phones coming out with >4.3" screens.

Does anyone know whether this thing is still attached to the MY13 Polos or have they finally seen sense and not installed it on cars which already have BT through the normal VW phone interface?

Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere on the forum, but is this perhaps an Aussie-only option? The MY13 GTI demonstrator I drove a few days ago in Christchurch, NZ which has the RCD510 as standard, does not have this dashboard dock installed and I'm not expecting to find it in the MY13 GTI I've ordered.

The Universal XL cradles are now available. If you would like one please let me know. They are $90 including shipping (RRP is $110). I'm bulk purchasing 5 from the AU distributor especially for VWW members who want them.

They should be with me in early May, and will post out with Express post with tracking there after.

These are genuine Bury cradles, but not VW cradles, so you will need the coding done as discussed in this thread.

They will fit:
iPhone 5
Galaxy S3/S4
Lumia 720, 820, 920
Blackberry Z10
HTC One

and pretty much any other large smartphone.

With the universal cradle, does it charge the phone and use the external antenna similar to the iPhone 5 specific dock or is it simply a dock for the phone?

Also, has anyone heard from any suppliers about the Bury iPhone 5 cradle? I've tried emailing a few companies but have received nothing from them. I did see on an Australian website that the release has again been pushed back to mid May.

Yes, my shipment of the universal cradles also got pushed out til the 23rd of May. I believe Bury has had manufacturing issues because when I first asked about these cradles (both universal and iPhone 5) I was promised the first week of February, and it has constantly been pushed back since......

I actually just confirmed with Bury in Germany and they have advised it DOES connect to the external antennae.

Also.. these guys suck, Its so frustrating I just found this email:

Also, how do you simply plug in the USB-Lightning adapter or do you get another USB cable?
Does this allow the iphone to connect to the antenna, or just power?

I'd assume hes doing it without power/charging, which isn't too bad for the work commute and the odd call.

Antenna would still work as its a loop inside the base.
