    Sorry to hear about your pog gambit. Any update yet? We too went through a painful waiting game not knowing if the outcome was desirable or not when our close to new fiesta was flooded in feb 2011. Hope it works out for you mate.

    Personally id go for something different to try different cars unless the car that just got written off was your most desirable and couldn't possibly get anything better.

      Thanks Dave, ifit gets written off, what should I replace it with...? Ideally if another polo gti is available great! But if not, needs to be 4dr, auto or dsg, and under $40k plus on road.

        Um how about a Skoda Octavia RS? Got 4 doors, plenty of space, real comfy, wife wont complain about small size, economical enough, plenty of boot space (and I mean PLENTY) and plenty of mods available since it shares platform and parts with Golf?

        Otherwise, if I were in your shoes, I wouldn't mind getting into the jap scene with the new rexy. Looks aggressive especially in white and now being wide body. But for 40k, there's a few choices out there. Its a good budget to have. Unlike myself when I had to sell my polo. How about you write up a list of potential cars?I'm sure the watercooled brethren would be more than happy to comment and help you pick. Hell I'll even be up for car shopping with you mate.

              My only thoughts lead to the Clio, or Citroen DS3.

                      Well not to seem like a traitor but i'm thinking of getting the DS3 or the Megan 250 Trophee.

                      For the price being asked, your getting quite a nice kit/setup, i guess before Eofys I may have a different car >.>

                          Would have to wait for the DS4 Mate.

                          DS3 = Sport 3 Door.

                          DS4 - Sport 5 door arriving early this year i believe.

                            Get the DS3 anth, then I can wave bye bye to you if I see you around in it Honestly, the ds3 isn't a bad car, but the problem with the styling is that is is already starting to date and the car is only 18 months old. Many car manufacturers have starting immitating the design language in a much better way that Citroen.

                            Aside from the fact that it's only available in manual, same as the clio, I think that if you're after a hot-hatch in self shifting guise, your stuck with VAG product or the absolutely horrible lancer ralliart, if they even still sell it.

                              Yeah true gav, next up is the golf, and sorry golf owners but I can't stand the golf gti. Don't mind the scirocco r but not enough cash for that. I do like the Renault sport offerings though.
