Do you mean ETKA number?
Not yet, the article just appeared on June's number of the magazine... Non more details...
Let's wait, we also know that all Italian workshop managers went in May to VW Italy headquarters for a meeting about this problem and they were said that a solution is going to come...
I'm not so confident about this solution, but let's see what will happen... :/
I mean estimated time for this fix ;D
I'll check my new engine CODE when I get my car back...
At this point my personal theory is:
_Piston rings are not able to contain enought the pression inside the combustion chamber (may be specially in hard conditions: low rev, high loads due to volumex or wrong break in or engine cold or ... or ...)
_Pression in engine cranckcase increase
_Cyclonic oil separator is not able to do its work, some oil is sucked up in the intake...
To be honest mate, I have redlines my car, I regularly drive up and down hills in anger and a few of us are going for a run through the alpine region this weekend and I can guarantee that some of the others will lay testament to how I drive this car. I still (touch wood) have no oil issues.
I think the issue is manufacturing tolerances, simple as that. Coupled with an engine tune from the factory that is dicey in regards to fuel and spark delivery and I think it's just a recipe for disaster.
The new oil separator will be interesting to see how effective it is, this could be one of the causes for excessive carbon / soot build up in the intake manifold with an in-effective separator. Easily fixed with an external catchcan however...
I would love to gavs.. but unfortunately I will be stuck at work!
Ohh...bummer, I was going to encourage you to come too, would have been great to meet you as we have swapped a couple of PM's in the past......yeah food poisoning would work
Pleased ‘so far so good' with your new engine though, the way it should be huh.....keeping a close eye on the new Polos dipstick......also good so far after just over 1000kms....also early days too though

Yes, they are doing the same here...
What I'd ask if I'd have a consumption test is to be present when they fill the oil, just to be sure that the max level is respected and they don't fill with too much oil, just to mystify the final result...
Yeah I would've liked to see the dipstick as well but this is how it came out from the mechanics so who knows if they put extra oil in to cover their asses.

It's just normal tape. You can always remove it and put it back LOL
But I wouldn't do that ofc
