  • Yes I know, I have been slack during my lunch breaks, but this should maybe make up for it.....
This is an example page. It’s different from a blog post because it will stay in one place and will show up in your site navigation (in most themes). Most people start with an About page that introduces them to potential site visitors. It might say something like this: Hi there! I’m a bike messenger […]

    • Hi all,

Anyone know a joint in brissie for ECU remaps? Just want that bit 'extra' out of it. And I know its best to do this stuff off of recommendation.

But, because I am nice, give Simon at etech remapping a call, although based in cairns (I know, not local but hey, it's the same state!) to see what he's got, also Revo Technik have a brissy based dealer, not sure if they have the 77TSi on their list of Polo 6R maps yet though...APR is super local but only GTI at this stage (might be able to sweet talk guy for a run as a development vehicle... )

happy to be the guineapig, and yes, I will pass on your regards. In fact i mentioned my call was as a result of your post, I wouldn't have known he was in Cairns.

Lucky for me, as mostly this sort of stuff is availabe in capital cities. Although, in APR's defence, they are willing to fly up for 2 customers, and I've had good results on the Tig with them.

                cheers

only picked up car on Friday, done about 850km so far, have a tentative date set with Simon for this Friday.
We've had some discussions about preferences for mix of tunes/maps, so it will be an interesting exercise for both of us.
For my driving style I'm not looking for all out power, but prefer more torques. Just starting to get a feel for GTI's behaviour and how it handles my daily drive up and down the range.

                    will keep you posted

                          • So back in the 70's when we had tacky vinyl dashes which cracked, I understood the purpose of these dash mats. Then move forward and cheap cars have hard plastic dashes, and I guess I can still see some purpose. But now you have nice VW's with soft touch dash boards... what's the purpose of a dash mat?

Corey, a good question. Where I live (Far North Queensland) and the time of day of my daily drive to work, the reflection of sun on dashboard is such, that a dashmat provides an even surface with less reflection of light, making for a more pleasant drive.
I agree however that current VW dashes are great, of material and looks.

                              • Thanks Tigga1. The VW dash is pretty low reflectivity compared to some, but it's all relative I guess. If you spend a lot of time in a position which causes you to look through the reflected dash, then reducing it is an obvious advantage.
