      • Nothing wrong with the protector, I like the fact it protects the dash from harmful UV, makes me feel right at home too.

        • I ran into these while surfing a Polo news site. Genuine black polo rear lights.

Volkswagen Zubehr Shop - Rckleuchte, Anthrazit 6R0052200 8RZ

No idea how to get hold of them mind you, but I bet they'd look amazing considering they're genuine VW.

          Google translation of the blurb.
"Give your vehicle a visual highlight - Rear Light Series with the new modified Volkswagen in color: a clear-colored lenses and a black bezel provide the perfect setting for the red-transparent main filter and the reflector in red."

          • There was a post similar to this in the Golf Section, you will need an address in Europe in order for the invoice to be sent to, then the mailing address can be to Australia, it's some sort of loophole.

I'm from the UK - I would be quite happy to act as "middleman" for this, however, I'm not sure how this would all work ...

I believe this is done with a dealer (who is willing to make the order) they would need to put shipping address for Australia, then to send the invoice to a European address (as this is to Verify payment of VAT's i believe)

Someone posted about the Golf R lights cluster for the GTI ages ago and provided a median (dealer) whom members could of spoken to in order to get their item....wish someone knew how to achieve this like the R lights thread >.<

                • Well... you guys have a part number, and a general price. Add say 50 euro for shipping and if you're still happy, then contact ozram from these forums and ask him nicely. He has a contact in Volkswagen Germany who has been ordering the Golf LED tail lights for the MK6 boys and sending them over. I'm sure they'd be able to help here too

                      • Oh yeah... I forgot to mention guys. Make sure you get ones which are suitable for Australian delivered cars!

There are two main things here:
                        1) LHD vs RHD in addition to number of reverse lights/fog lights. In Australia the fog light must be on the right, reverse on the left etc.
                        2) Globe warning issues. If these change the load, then you may need either adaptors or VCDS to just the programming (no idea if they would, I'm not that interested enough to translate the page

This is why the MK6 Golf boys don't just buy from ebay and have purchased directly from Germany, as they can get the specific ones for our cars instead of making them technically unroadworthy...

Will get the bro to speak with Ozram, as he bought Golf R lights through him and co.

                          • I'm happy to help any of you Polo guys if I can.

Just a little bit of info and a few ground rules. I have passed on my contact for the R rear LED lights that we use on the 90's, 118's & GTI's to Hail22 who I believe is going to contact them.
I will not make the email address public as I don't think its the right thing to do and have no confirmation from them that they wish it to be made public.

I have supplied info to around 50 Golf owners on this (and other) forums and have had no problems whatsoever thus far. They are trustworthy and reliable. The European address is for their records only, no invoice goes to the address.

Corey is correct about LHD vs RHD. Get the wrong ones and you will be contravening the Australian Design Rules (ADR's) and running your vehicle illegally. If these are similar to the Golf LED's then they will ship with coding instructions and (adaptor cables if required) for you to clear any codes with the Ross Tech VCDS cable. Plenty of people have these cables and usually a slab of beer entices co-operation

Hail22, can you please let me know how you go on and supply the correct part numbers if you are successful?

                            Cheers,

                            Stu

Edit - Disclaimer - I have no affiliation with the supplier and am not being paid commission or payment of any kind. I will not accept responsibility for any problems you may incur by ordering components through them.

PS. I will send him an email myself and try to find some more info.

                              • Okie dokie update on the rear lights.

Received a reply with a slight translation issue but could deceifer that the item is 235 Euros = $321-322 AUD (This includes shipping to Sydney Australia)

He is now searching for (RHD lights) and also asked if the this component will need adaptors/coding from the way he replied it (seems) like its a plug and play unit will update later however.

For what your getting this seems much cheaper than what VW Aus may offer when/if the product comes here as individual dealerships like to Gouge their consumers.
