Ummm, have you asked ABT directly for a start?

The 77TSI does not use a Bosch MED ECU so if that were the case then I don't think it could be enabled. I might get DNA Tuning UK to have a look into it for the next 77TSI I carry out an upgrade on.

I personally would have thought that would be more to do with recoding the instrument cluster.
Yeah, John is 100% right on both counts. It has to do with the software programming in the instument cluster module, and to also answer the other question, it can only be done on the MED 17 equiped cars, MED 17.5 and the suspected newer update (which is what I call the 17.5.5) no longer can have this programmed. It's in the drop-down list but the actual control moducle in the instrument coding no longer exists

They're nice. But they're also the most expensive intake I know of on the market. Even more expensive than the "Stage 2" intakes which also replace the pipe back to the MAF/turbo...
Yeah, it's a quite ridiculous price really and unless they had some monster back-up in regards to consistant, major performance increases without reducing the filtering, I think rocks-in-head would be a good term for anyone who bought one

      • well... it just goes to show that different people have different requirements. Some people are happy with (practically illegal) open pod filters which maybe have a few pieces of foil shielding to "separate" the pod from the engine, and the pipe running back is rough black plastic. Other people like the full carbon fibre shield surrouding the pod and retain the OEM pipe. Other people like a complete carbon fibre pipe and pod enclosure which still uses the OEM intake slot.

        There's something for everyone

                            • Before even considering new calipers (which will cost you an absolute fortune), think about a fluid change first. this can help the wooden pedal feel. Then, think about different pads also. If you're still not happy, then start looking at caliper upgrades.

Have a look here for direct bolt on options that fit the GTI. Now remember that you will have to convert your hub carriers to the GTI ones before you can consider any caliper upgrade.....
