Tracking Progress on your Polo and Polo GTI

First time writer long time listener. First put order in 14th of February , started build on the 16th of April, arrival date of late June into Victoria docks.
Such a bummer it has taken such a long time for such a quality car. Not too many people will be driving around Ballarat with the specs that I have got though.
It is only a flash red polo, gotta love the little turbo, manual (oh what a freaking sweet gear box!!!) with comfort pack and sports pack. But it will be worth the wait. Cant wait for end of June

Press release states that all docks bar Melbourne will be affected as of tomorrow, thank god for that, comiserations to anyone getting off-loaded in Sydney, brisvegas or fremantle though, this should primarily only affect container ships, not all the car carriers....

Yeh - seems like it will be containers that will be effected the most. A few weeks ago this happened and someone on these forums phoned Volkswagen Australia. Apparently VW deliveries were not delayed....

Just got advice from my Dealer that my car is off the wharf and is in Patrick's holding area. Have been told to expect maximum 12 days for delivery. They said they'd get an update for me on Friday. Just sold my MINI (settling tomorrow) so everything is shaping up nicely. Fingers crossed no delays for you guys with cars imminently arriving.

Dealer contacted me. We've been in contact on an off during the whole manufacturing, shipping and delivery process. I cannot fault Camberwell VW for their pre delivery service. At this stage I am looking to pick-up the car on Sat 4th June.

Thanks mate. A bit of the shine has come off getting the new car though. My eldest daughter purchased a very neat and tidy 2003 Golf GL about 4 weeks ago. We insured just for 3rd party fire and theft due to her being young and accordingly the comprehensive premium being so high. Sunday late afternoon on her way to work she got slammed into the passenger side by a driver running a red arrow as he exited the freeway off ramp. We have witnesses who saw it and confirmed the lights my daughter went through were full green. Thanksfully she was fine physically after the crash.

Guess what, the other driver has no 3rd party property insurance, so my daughter is covered to the tune of $3K only and now we have to try to get the rest from the uninsured driver - what's the best we have a hard time!

This totally sucks and I can't believe we don't have compulsory 3rd party property on top on the TAC 3rd party cover for injury. Seriously, if you can't afford the insurance that covers damage you do to other property you shouldn't be on the road.

So as you can imagine, it's really not such a happy household right now and it's hard to show any real excitement about another VW coming into the fold when the one we had was only around for 4 weeks and is now gone and likely a write off!

Hey Frostee,
Glad to hear that your daughter is OK, that's by far the most important thing. This happened to me about 15 years ago, ended up going to court and the whole situation became very frustrating and complex. I hope that your journey will be a little easier than mine was. I agree, you must have at the very least, 3rd party insurance or bloody stay off the road.

Yeah got the TSI 77 total 24650.00 this is with comfort pack and sports pack, also boot sill film, floor mats, rego insurance and ctp all included. Thought it was a decent price. Cant wait to get it in june (fingers toes crossed). Got personeel fleet ot do all of the haggling. Hoepfully this is a good price? South yarra was the place it was ordered thru, it will be delivered to my front door also
