Must be nearing Cape Town now...surely, it's been out of range for nearly five days. Last known position was Dakar
She will turn up again.
Here is the site where you can see what is coming and going from Durban. It is updated daily. I found this site looking for Port elizabeth data for the Tombarra. Although the Tombarra has been and gone it didn't show up on the AIS marine tracking site but did show a record on this site for port elizabeth movements.
The Tombarra only appeared again on the AIS as it went past Margate - A city south of Durban about 6 hours prior to docking.
See pic below - Morning Carol should be the same I suppose.
Also, from this pic you can see the distance it took Tombarra to travel over a 6 hour period. You can probably extrapolate this and predict where the Morning Carol will be..
However, you must factor in that as I have said before, Tombarra is a red ship and goes faster
Morning carol is right on schedule GTI Joe, was always intended to dock in Durban on the 8th
Based on an average of 16 knots, the Morning carol would take 6 days to get from Dakar to Durban, with an estimated 4450kms ( ~2250NM) so that means 141 Nm a day, 4 days left, 564NM from Durban would put it passing port elizabeth sometime late today I would think...
According to the WW site, MC was due in Durban on the 7th (4 days ago) then changed to the 8th soon after, but the arrival to Melb. has not changed, still on 25th. Still, a bridge too far
I hope you are right with your calculations...are they NASA approved

Here ya go - on this site - the local port info for Durban, the MC is due on the 8th. It hasn;t been assigned a dock as yet.
Hi guys - newbie on the forum. Got a white polo gti coming soon (i hope!)
Got my chassis number from the dealer, but comes up with no records on the tracking website???
Nadcom info has it left the port of departure on 11/4/11.
Last port of transit 5/5/11.
Arrival at final destination 16/6/11.
Dealer has it scheduled for delivery start of July.
Thoughts???? Cheers.
Matho, if it's not on the tracking site, it hasn't been booked onto a boat yet unfortunately. The only way you will know for sure that it has left is it will show up on a boat on the WW site. The only definative way is to see where the little dot is and get oyur dealer to look at the sub menus, they have more info.
GTI Joe, the PDF I downloaded at the start of the year always had the Morning Carol docking in Durban on the 8th so I guess it was just wishful thinking on the website updating person thingy
I've just been told by my dealer that my Polo is on the Tombarra and due in Melb on the 24/5. The car still isn't showing on the track & trace website (just to make sure - I enter the VIN # in the Cargo ID bit yeah?). I'm hesitant to believe the dealer as they've been mucking me around a bit, but here's hoping!!
Sorry mate but if it's not showing up, it's not on the boat. Especially not the tombarra because that arrives on the 19th and morning carol the 25th. Go back to your dealer principle or manager with this info and see what happens, I'm sick of hearing about sales staff telling us this kind of bullish*t lies!
My polo GTI was build week 14, yet i still can't track using my vin on that website.
What build week was yours gavs?
Also, how long does it usually take from build week to arrival in Aus? I only ask because i saw someone on here had a week 9 build golf gti and picked up there car almost exactly a month later... that seems too quick compared to what everyone seems to be saying in this thread.

Left last port of departure 5/5

It's weird that i cant get a boat name though or track it on that site???

You won't be able to track the VIN until it is loaded on the ship. We have seen Polo's sitting on the docks waiting for a ship for weeks.
On the nadcon ETA data page (ask explicitly for the ETA data page) printout there is a entry called "arrival port of shipment". This is when the car has made it to the docks and awaiting a ship. It is then up to the shipping company to load it into a ship to Australia.
There is another listing under that saying "departure port of shipment" - this was not accurate in my case.
Also, not all vessels that come to Australia stop at every port. Some go to Fremantle, Melbourne and then Brisbane, and not Port Kembla etc. You can look this up on the Wallenius Wilhelmsen site to see which ship will come to your delivery port.
Gavs and Frostee - you may be able to help with this - how long after the "arrival port of shipment" was your Polo loaded and shipped?
For my Golf GTI, it arrived at the port on 1st April and was on a ship on 10th April.
