Tracking Progress on your Polo and Polo GTI

22 European built polos disembarked the torino last night, yet the last 2 melbourne deliveries had a max of 11..... Not holding my breath for a 26th departure date!

Interesting, 92 euro built (aka GTI) polos were booked in on the 7th of april to supposedly sail on the tombarra that left saturday, none of which are joe's or mine so far, I'll have to keep an eye out to see what else gets booked in. They all got booked the same day too at exactly the same time.... I wonder if they are all heading out over the next week on boats.

We have three chances (in the short term) with this, hoping one pans out Some interesting movements on the docks....lots of car vessels and the Mignon soon to dock?

Mignon is due to dock on the 13th and supposedly depart the 13th according to WW, yet it is seemingly keeping it's date at southampton on the 30th....

What's the current time from build to delivery from South Africa (5 door)? Originally the dealer said 2 months or so, but is now saying maybe a month?

Will have to keep a sea-eye out over the next few days but judging on the 2 weeks prior build of payno and frostee, i'd still say we're 2 weeks away from sailing

If I remember correctly the 3 door regular polos are built in Spain too aren't they?

I thought it was just the 5 doors that were built in South Africa... or maybe it was the other one around.

It would have been cool. I thought we had a bit of a thing going with the 4 of our cars. Shame .

Mind you, you guys are all in Melbourne anyway.. I would have been shunned once the boat got to Freo.

Gti Joe,

You should know in about 16 - 17 hours (@ time of this post) if your Polo will be on the boat if it works the same way as the tombarra. The ship is due to dock in about 3.5 hours and will be there for about 18 Hours. I just checked the ship and it seems she is holding around bremerhaven atm. The pilot boats will be out shortly to guide her into the harbour.

The ship itinerary was updated and our cars were visible on the manifest about 4 - 5 hours before she left.

According to VW, only the GTI is Spanish built, the base models come from south africa but we know how reliable their info is, don't we If they do still build the 3 doors at Pamplona, that will be even worse because it means that povvo packs will get priority over mine! I thought only the trendline came in 3 door apart from the GTI, which is the bargain basement model....

Tombarra is now showing 103 polos onboard, loaded in bremerhaven.....
