Tracking Progress on your Polo and Polo GTI

Just got word my GTI is in production and have been given the VIN#. Cross my fingers everything is correct, don't want an option missing or a five door turning up (like what happened to iigx)

Received an email yesterday from VW titled "Your Volkswagen is here!"

Congratulations, your Polo GTI (VIN#) has now arrived in Australia and will soon be undergoing customs and final quality checks. Upon completion it will be released directly to your dealer.

Thank you for your continued patience, it will not be long before you are sitting in the driver's seat. Hopefully you have found our regular updates useful and informative, and Volkswagen's dedicated hotline has answered any queries you might have had.

You should also contact your dealership as soon as possible, as they will be arranging delivery and will be happy to answer your questions.

Pity my GTI has only just been loaded onto a boat (as per the tracking info sent previously by my dealer). This is pretty stupid stuff up from VW. Called them up and all they say is sorry, glitch, may have been sent out to a few other customers too.

I had the exact same email yesterday. I gave my dealer a call as per instructions, and he said he'd chase it up. Then I got a call today from Customer Care, letting me know that it was a mistake, and that it was only loaded onto the boat. Estimate time of arrival around 10 weeks.

I am in love! She is so much faster and better than I remember. Absolutely worth the wait! Going to go for a photo shoot tomorrow hopefully. And read the huge manual...

looking forward to some pics next.....LOL, if the manual is anything like the Golfs (no doubt it is) I spent a fair bit of time deciphering Eurpoean/Aussie Specs....made me realize just how much we don't get in comparison

Getting antsy cause haven't been able to track mine since 26/3 (after leaving the Panama) but she's due into Brissy on
Sunday...so should be able to track her again maybe tomorrow.....now due into Melbourne 20/4..so only a day late this far.
then I guess 2-3 weeks after that before delivery? Still feels like forever away (sigh)

Cheers readerrOr......I have had a looky look at yours... Currently chugging along at 14.9 knots...(must be a head wind) LOL....interesting to monitor the speed, I want to see the turbo boost haha.

Mines STILL out of range current ETA to Bris tomorrow changed from 0900 to 1700 plus leaving a day later now also.

Might as well follow yours till mine re appears, can't track Karl's either cause that's been out of range for a while now too

i'm still in Dealer Spec after 5 months. If the Toyota 86/Subaru BRZ ends up coming in under Golf price as rumoured, I'm probably going to cancel my order & get on of those.

Good news, my cars ship has just sailed into Brissby, close to docking
FINALLY able to track her after 20 days absence....
Next is Sydney > Melbourne.

Schedule has her leaving Sydney 3 days behind original schedule which means she will hopefully now sail into Melbourne next Sat or Sunday? Hope it's during daylight as it will be a trip in the try and see her and hopefully unloading...

Guessing ETA to be 1st- 2nd week of May so just over 11 mths from ordering......bit of a blow out from the 8 mth cconservative dealership figure.....but this was the price we paid to get the options we wanted, so looking forward to putting the long wait behind us very soon now

Well the Toledo has come and gone and my car now shows as discharged on the track and trace site. It's officially on terra firma.

It was held up for 24-hours by a certain boat hogging the port though (looking at you GTI mk6 )

I noticed Toledo anchored outside in the cold....now I know why

Great to know she's been unloaded and on solid ground.....now back to waiting just a little longer

Mines due to leave Port Kembla in the morning, due into Melbourne Sat night @ 2030...shame it wasnt in daylight but looks like a trip to the city will be in order on Sun morning to at least see the ‘Mother Ship' before she departs for Fremantle early evening......

I also have a Tiguan "discharged" from the Toledo at Port Kembla on 15/4/12 - I'm new to this game, so can anyone tell me with any kind of accuracy what happens now? Does it go somewhere to be complied, before the dealer or what? And if that's the case, what is the general time period between "discharge" and delivery at the dealer?

My dealer, or rather the bloke I am attempting to deal with, has no clue...........

Sadly from when it lands to being ready at the dealer is the hardest part to track as only your dealer can track it now. You should see your car go from "Discharged" to "Delivered From" (actually it should of happened by now, but I guess they're held up there.).

What exactly "Delivered From" means no one is really sure of. But our best guess is that it means it has passed through customs or compliance. Either way it'll be loaded on a truck and dispatched to the dealer a few days after, where they do all the delivery preparations.

Your dealer should be able to track it from now on the Patrick autocare site but they usually don't pass that info on.
