Tracking Progress on your Polo and Polo GTI

Had an email last week saying my car would be built in the next 5 weeks... and delivery would be approx 3-4 months... sounds about right from now until keys in the hand i guess... I guess I will get a VIN just before its built and tracking from there on should be simpler.

Must be a lot less demand now or higher production, I've waited over 13 months.

I dont think so, still mental from what VW said. FYI I got a cancelled order slot back in Feb/March...

Have 2 currently in stock one Red one Black no options (manager is a chicken, hope he doesnt read this), we could only supply 4 over the last 12 months so lost potential momentum, pm me if any interested

Mate if you want a car that isnt run of the mill, then you have to wait, as a dealer, you cant order outside of fare share, you also only have 10 days to modify an existing order prior to it being accepted,do dealer would order your car for stock, Volkswagen tell us when we can order we dont decide, fairshare isnt fair at all, also, who is to say that the dealer hasnt got other orders that take up earlier fair share slots????? This isnt a dealer problem but a Volkswagen problem.

As you can see, contract back in Aug 2011, but not added in the system till Feb 2012 They said due to the "VW fairshare ordering system" they couldn't add it till now. Funny timing that they couldn't add till I chased it up with them

Thanks , no car yet though. I'm guessing it'll be about a week. Very keen to have it soon, the Canberra weather is getting terrible.

I just had a look back through the thread to see when yours landed again...(15/5)
Mine took 12 days from landing to arrive at dealership....due to the day it arrived (Thurs) pick up didn't happen till following Thurs (by choice) as both Thurs, Frid had been booked as days off work to go cruising

So hopefully by the end of this week you should be able to leave that bicycle in the garage.....
Melbourne weather has also been cold and feeling more like winter, plenty of rain yesterday.

Its been a particularly long wait for you Karl.....it will be worth it in the end....very happy with ours so far, keeping a close eye on the oil level....so far so good, moved slightly but only done just under 900k.

I really am looking forward to hearing when yours will be ready to pick up.
crap weather made me think of you cause it's no longer cycling weather....you really have much to look forward to

Ordered 12/4/2011 , pickup 31/5/2012 so that's over 13.5 months.

Dropped into my local dealer as my mother in law decided in the end the best car she has driven (we drove Rio, Fiesta, Swift, Jazz, Fabia and Accent - plus sat in i20, i30, Mazda 2 and 3, Nissan Micra, and a bunch of others i forget now!) was the Polo Tsi comfortline so we picked one up for her, brand new and in stock, she gets it next week... LOL, shes chosen since we did and still gets her polo quicker than us LOL.

Anyway, whilst there it seems our car was built two weeks back and is listed as a MY12, so it would seem we wont have the MY13 wheels... no bother... main thing is that its built and will be on its way soon.

Of course VW's dedicated Polo info system for us who are waiting fails again... it was by chance i was in the showroom and saw the salesman Im now dealing with (the useless guy i actually bought from has left now), else we wouldnt know at all... anyway, all signs are the car will be here in August and we will pick up in early Sept...

My polo GTI just landed in melbourne on the platinum ray, it was at port kembla on the 15th
Not to upset anyone but i payed for mine on the 29th of may so iv waited less then a month.

FINALLY!! Congrats, hopefully within approx 10 - 14 days...you should be thoroughly enjoying your ride.
The heated seats are perfect for these cold mornings, heat up fast too
IMO the extra wait to get these and the bixenons was worth it..........(now).
