Tracking Progress on your Polo and Polo GTI

I've been keeping an eye on Carsales each day to see what new ones turn up. One thing I notice, a lot of dealers are hopeless at selecting the 5 Door option and keep putting them up as 3 door. Out of five 3 doors on carsales, only one is actually a 3 door.

Just because the picture is of a 3 door, don't be surprised if it's an old picture, or if they're advertising demo vehicles etc that aren't actually for sale yet...

Just got word my GTI is in production and have been given the VIN#. Cross my fingers everything is correct, don't want an option missing or a five door turning up (like what happened to iigx)

If I recall mine was almost exactly two months from that email to 'keys-in-hand'. So not long now! I know how you feel!

The latest update I have is "Checkpoint 8 Handover to Sales" was on 30/03/2012 and "Arrival at final Destination" is 21/06/2012

WOOHOO! I did not see your post but was online checking it anyway and yes I am very very damn excited to see it's been loaded on the Tiger and on it s way to Port Kembla, 1 week short of 12months wait so far.

I bet you were excited to see that....heck I was for you too....didn't want to spoil the surprise by naming the ship too.
I might track yours now and then cause mine has been out of range since leaving the Panama (on its way to Brissy now)
I just missed capturing it going through the locks at the Panama by a few minutes cause I had to go to work.....got screen shots of it waiting for the water level to rise.....GRR...waited till I was almost late for work....all in the timing...great to see all the same.
So pleased yours got on Tiger cause its two days shorter journey than the one due to leave today....

Isnt it a great feeling after almost two weeks of seeing ‘no records found' to seeing its loaded!!

Indeed,
I was seriously getting fed up with no records found, starting to think i had teh wrong VIN.
Quite exciting that I can see where it is, currently steaming across the north sea for southhampton.
I'm going to get seriously hooked on watching it now, i'm definitely goign to track it through panama! that's awesome.

I've now got the marine traffic iPhone app, the ship stored in my fleet and now I can pull my phone out of my pocket and check where it is any time of day.

How long does it usually take from ship docking to delivery? Dealer said 2-3 weeks!

Mine docked on 22nd March, got to "Delivered From" status 28th and got the call to pick up the car on 13th April.
So I think 2-3 weeks after docking sounds like it may be a realistic time frame

Hey All

Ordered a Polo GTI today. As the signature says, candy white with xenons, leather and sunroof. Now for the long wait.

Dealer said they had some slots left in their September allocation so may get it around Xmas. Fingers crossed.

My partner picked up a pepper grey 77TSI with comfort pack 2 weeks ago. Ordered it 6 weeks ago, when it was on the Maersk Torrens on its way here. Im so impressed ive ordered a silver 77TSI with comfort pack for delivery (by choice) in Septmeber.
