Any with Xenons, Leather and the Audio upgrade?

BTW, why do you have seven "spare" GTIs when there are customers that have placed orders last year. Shouldn't VW HQ only assign the cars to dealers that have customers that placed orders?

Unfortunately i have nothing that will be coming in with Leather and Xenons. The only one i have is a white one with xenons and roof. Audio pack and comfort pack is standard in these car now.

That would not make sense if VGA only allocates cars to the dealers that have clients who placed orders. Lets say in australia 20 people ordered polo gtis and VGA can allocate 80 cars to dealers. How would they get rid of the rest 60? by giving it as free stock to the rest of the dealers.

Unfortunately what seems to happen (to continue with your example), after these 20 customer and 60 dealer orders are placed, before the GTIs are even scheduled to be built, another 40 customers came along and placed orders. Instead of VW reassigning the dealer orders and giving them to the customers, they made the customers wait another 3-6months until another VGA allocation.

Not your fault by any means, just could be managed better from VW HQ to avoid the walk-in buyers getting the cars before the customers who placed orders.

As your dealer mentioned, the Polo GTI is a very popular car. Subsequently, global demand has been high and Volkswagen is working around the clock to fulfil current orders. Unfortunately, this popularity has translated into a longer waiting period than usual.

To make this wait as bearable as possible, Volkswagen Australia has set up a dedicated program to keep you up-to-date with the status of your vehicle, notifying you at various stages until arrival.

We have also arranged a dedicated line you can phone with any queries. This could be anything from when or where will my vehicle be built to how does it get to Australia. The Volkswagen call centre receives status updates every week, so is the most up-to-date source on information about your vehicle.

To check on your order, all you have to do is call the number below and provide your Commission Number:

While I got my email bang on time, I doubt your order has been sitting there doing nothing. I think it just has something to do with that issue of them assigning you the wrong commission number.

If you are worried about your order though, ask your dealer to send a screenshot of the order on NADCON. It should look something like this...

It shows when your order was placed by the dealer and how it's progressing.


On a side note. Mine has been built and is awaiting transport. About 5 boats are leaving this week from Bremerhaven to Brisbane, arriving early april, my polo better be on one of them!

Just got the long awaited email from VGA to say Polo now built and here's your vin number. (week 7 build)
FINALLY after 8.5 mths of much to deal with along the way, it's conceived and a reality.
Looking forward to tracking this car.
Also got the generic letters from VGA months after placing the order
Advised mid-end May delivery, so will be a matter of either days or maybe a week or two short of 12 mths from placing order.

As you can see, contract back in Aug 2011, but not added in the system till Feb 2012 They said due to the "VW fairshare ordering system" they couldn't add it till now. Funny timing that they couldn't add till I chased it up with them

I just found out another dealership had a non-customer assigned GTI of the same spec of my order, but they sold it to someone who just walked in off the street yesterday

VWGA should have direct control over all GTI orders and manage them from a single source.

Depending on how bored you are, you can go pretty deep down the rabbit hole tracking wise.



Looking at my ETA sheet, the Polo's get put on the trains on the same day they exit the factory and take about 4 days to get to Bremerhaven. Mine spent about 2 weeks at the docks and it showed up on the tracking site the same day it was loaded.

If you're really curious, you can look at the schedules for the boats at Wallenius Wilhelmsen - Customer centre - Schedules
Search by ports -> Select Germany and Aus -> Bremerhaven and your port (Bris/Kembla/Melb) then you have a list of Boats and their dates.
Then you can check out the Webcam and then Marinetraffic.com, there's a great explanation of it here

If you just enter WVWZZZ6RZCY in the track and trace site you can see a lovely list of all the Polo's sent on their way. In fact the ANIARA which has just left after the TOLEDO has some Polo's on it heading to melbourne so you may be in luck! Apart from that theres the QUEEN SAPPHIRE leaving tomorrow and a bunch leaving next week.
