Yours has been built and put on the boat? Nice! AFAIK mine will be built this week or next. Did you get any VW emails when it was built or just that is was scheduled?

Once I eventually got the commission number from the dealer, called up the VW customer service to find out what was happening. When they told me it was on the boat I just asked for the VIN number and did the seach.

Was suprised to find out it was built as I was worried the order had gotten lost. Last update from the dealer was delivery got changed (again) to June/July

Hi there....hmm that sounds a bit suss to me, how do they give you the wrong commission number and wouldn't VGA surely check your name on the system against the comm number before giving you a vin number??

I intially drove one in Mid 2010 and wanted one, but was put off by the lengthy wait. I postponed my purchasing of a new car until Nov 2011 when I just happened to walk through a VW showroom and found a brand new white 5Dr model + RCD510 which had only been on the floor a couple days and in the country a week. Apparently someone cancelled their order after it arrived. The only problem was there wasnt much haggling on the price

My Mrs has her heart set on a GTI. Today a dealer said he could get one here by July as they have one allocated. However, he also claimed that if she let him know in the next few days he could pick the colour and add options etc.

This sounds like hogwash to me. Or is this actually possible?

Ha ha, I'm msure the dealer can get your signature by july but one built to her own spec? Tell him to pull his hand out of his pants when he's lying to you!

Order intake has been finalised for the 3rd quater on friday 10th of feb.
On the other hand. i have 3 polo gtis arriving in march and 4 in july if you are interested.

A "Brisbane dealer" told me a similar thing last year. Of course when the car came 10 MONTHS later it didn't have the options I ordered.

BTW, why do you have seven "spare" GTIs when there are customers that have placed orders last year. Shouldn't VW HQ only assign the cars to dealers that have customers that placed orders?
