But other than that, im very satisfied with them. No other things to complain about. But maybe im just lucky, who knows.
I envy you, I will not take the chance now. Having said that I have Chinese wheels on now and they have been excellent, maybe I got lucky as well

Can't blame you. If I got to know what you did before I ordered, i would have concidered another brand aswell. I'm not the on that
usually ends up lucky with stuff like this. Things always tend to screw me over somehow. Glad i could finally catch a break

        • Harding performance tune done, Wagner intercooler gets delivered tomorrow, coilovers are in my lounge room, ordered wheels today and I think I finally decided what exhaust I will be ordering tomorrow. Probably going to attempt to fit everything myself with the help of a mate in roughly 2 weeks. Very much looking forward to it.

Awesome stuff, there is a good satisfaction from doing the mods yourself too

I've never really had the space to try and tackle it myself, but a mate of mine recently built a demo car for his business so he bought every tool/jack/stand/impact driver you can imagine and has plenty of room. The exhaust is v-band and the intercooler doesn't require removal of the front bar so should be easy enough

              • Starting installing some some stuff today. Racing line high flow turbo elbow and silicone intake hose from Harding performance. Had to get a golf R PCV breather hose for it to go on properly. Looks OEM and was easy to install. Still deciding on what filter to put in the airbox.

I got got a dumb good deal on a milltek turbo back exhaust, using a mates workshop hoist to put that in tomorrow. If I have enough time intercooler too. Then coilovers maybe Thursday night

Nice choices. If you have not installed the Milltek downpipe yet suggest you might wrap it before install. My 200 catted Milltek dp runs as hot as hell with no shrouding as on the std one. Golf Rs have the same problem - forum member 'Primordial' wrapped his R's Milltek dp and it fixed problem. Mine is only partly wrapped because it's a bugger to do after fitting. Use a good quality wrap and it may smell less, mine is still a bit stinky after a few months.

I like the RacingLine hose and elbow, was looking to do something like this. Mind if I ask how much you paid? You can message me if you prefer. I am running a BMS panel filter, expensive but I expect they are all similar.

I'Ve already installed my milltek, just finished it. It was easy compared to the intercooler. What a pain in the arse that was. Just over an hour for the exhaust and 2 1/2 for the intercooler. I looked into wrapping it and there was a lot of debate about it creating excess thermal stress on the exhaust, the welds and also the actual turbo. The dump pipe only takes 15 minutes to pull off so I'll see how it goes in the mean time.

Goes a lot harder now, not sure how much the Wagner cooler helps but around 185kw at the front hubs. I need better front tyres because spins through second easily. Hopefully the coilovers help with traction.

I paid roughly $500 (can't find the receipt sorry) for the turbo elbow and intake pipe. All bolted up in 5 minutes. A lot larger than the stock intake. Other intakes like Revo reduced the size of piping to the turbo inlet rather than opening up the plastic intake. I don't know how much difference there is between them power wise but I'm certainly happy with it. Only thing is the golf R PCV hose is needed to reach the elbow because it's in a different spot compared to the stock Polo. You can make the Polo breather hose reach with modifications but I just ordered the part and fitted it the next day.

The higher front spring rates and (depending on the damper valving) the higher low speed bump generally results in a loss of traction. This can be offset by the higher rear spring rate and (depending again on the damper valving) the higher high speed bump generally results in less weight transfer off the front wheels which can give an increase in front traction. This is of course when the wheels are straight ahead, if there is any diagonal weight transfer then the higher front damper rebound valving (which is required to control the higher spring rate) may result in a reduction in weight on the inside front wheel and hence a higher propensity to loose traction. A rear swaybar upgrade will of course help with the latter.

Bottom line, it might be better, but it may well be worse, it all depends on how sophisticated the damper valving is and whether the spring rates are complimentary.

                      Cheers

I'm hoping to stop some weight transfer. Coilovers are adjustable so I'll stiffen the rear and keep the fronts moderate. I'll get some stickier tyres soon and go from there

                        • My aircon has that sweaty sock smell. Its a new car and after a couple of months and with complaints from passengers I had to fix the problem. Last week used a can of Autoglym aircon sanitiser and put in a new Mann carbon cabin filter (credit goes to a Golf owner who did this and posted it up) Really happy with results.

The Mann cabin filter was heavier and thicker than the original I took out.

If they have a single damper rate adjuster then they will do bump and rebound in some predetermined ratio (commonly 1% bump & 2% rebound), which may or may not be what you need. More incremental bump on the rear and less incremental bump on the front would be the best compromise. Together with more incremental rebound on the front and less on the rear. But I've not seen any off the shelf coil over kits with that level of smarts, commonly they simply do both front and rear adjustments maintaining the same ratio.

They both had 20 points adjustable so firm rear semi firm front. Rides comfier than stock and traction seems a little better. I'll do some more playing around and see how it goes

                              • Not sure if anyone knows if this is possible.. I installed some 6000k LED parkers to match the headlights I put in - however I get an error to check the side lamps etc... Guy at VW said that they wont do any damage its just the resistance causing issues.

Is it possible to somehow code this out so I don't get the error?

In addition, I need to replace my Fog lights and am looking around the 5000k LED - Does anyone know the wattage in the H8 bulbs to get?
