I looked into wrapping it and there was a lot of debate about it creating excess thermal stress on the exhaust, the welds and also the actual turbo. The dump pipe only takes 15 minutes to pull off so I'll see how it goes in the mean time.

Goes a lot harder now, not sure how much the Wagner cooler helps but around 185kw at the front hubs. I need better front tyres because spins through second easily. Hopefully the coilovers help with traction.
I've copied you with the Wagner Performance intercooler, currently on its way from Germany. 2 1/2 hours to fit! you did very well, I've been quoted 3.5 to 4 hours labor and given that the front bumper, lights and radiator all need to come out I'm not disputing it.

Intercooler should increase longevity of other parts and hopefully I can remove all my messy heat wrap around the dp given the car will not suffer from heat soak like it does now.

I did it on a hoist with another mate helping me. It was an absolute pain. Coilovers took half the time. If I knew what I was getting into before I started I would have gladly paid someone to do it.

            • Just an update on the re003 tyres. These grip really well, no spin in second gear now and they are cheap (I paid $700 fitted) for the set, they are currently on offer 3 for the price of 4. I wanted AD08r but load rating is too low in the 215/40r17.

Exactly the tyres I need, after my recent addition of Wagner intercooler 2nd gear wheel spin with a heavy right foot is unavoidable.

Hey stiffy86 quick question on the VWR RacingLine silicone intake hose I know you fitted recently. I have a VWR RacingLine silicone intake hose on its way from UK, I could not resist the low 'Black Friday' price compared to here. I did not purchase the turbo elbow inlet yet because I am hoping the silicon hose will fit the VW elbow? and can't be bothered with the hastle that the engine breather hose needs modifying to fit the VWR elbow. The web site of the seller states it will replace the standard bellows intake on the Polo and makes no mention of needing the VWR elbow BUT in the photos it appears the VWR silicon intake hose is a larger internal diameter than the OD of the VW elbow inlet on my car now? Can you please confirm for me if the inlet diameters of the VW and RacingLine turbo inlet elbows are the same?

                Thank you!

                  Hi mate,

can't say for sure as I did both at the same time sorry and didn't really pay much attention to it. I'd say it's larger than stock

                    • Hey guys,

I've been searching and searching for anyone that has done roof racks that still allow the panoramic sunroof to work normally on a 2014 Polo GTI. Couln't find anyone that has done it thus far...

Decided to take the plunge and hope for the best.
I can confirm that the Thule WingBar DOES clear the sunroof by about 20mm

                      Crappy picture attached for proof

Yeah thats a cool feature to have, i enabled both the auto lock and alarm chirp on my wifes 6C GTI as soon as we got it, she really likes the auto lock feature as it just gives her that extra bit of security. I did mine through VCDS but it looks much easier with the OBDeleven.
