  • I did this about a week ago.

Black roof, spoiler and VW racing style stripes along the crease on the bonnet.
just done with plasti-dip for now so i can see how i like living with it before committing to the cost of getting it done in gloss black vinyl

    Any thoughts?

Yeh I've been thinking of a matte finish aswell, could look good but I'm leaning towards gloss as it would match the badges, wheels, grill and B-pillars

Great decision on your part...I see so many people getting it wrong with the mismatching of matte vs gloss etc.

Everything that's black on my car is virtually matte. After my car was vinyl wrapped, the only remaining gloss parts were the shiny pillars...so I had the guy cover those in matte black as well and it really has set if off. Hell...I even plastidipped the chrome exhaust tips in matte black...and from the rear it just looks mad!! Full stealth mode!

I'm gonna get some proper pics done this weekend if the rains stay away. The wheels are still a little while off yet but I am about to throw on a set of temporary Varrstoen wheels tonight so I can fatten the stance for these photos.

                • Excited!

Totally agreed too! Gloss black vinyl to match the rest! Personally I wouldn't do the bonnet, but that's just me!

                  • See, I like the look of the vinyl on that part of the bonnet. I just wonder what would look good on black besides silver

Can't wait to see the new pics Brad, plastidiped the exhaust tips? Me thinks the vinyl will burn away?

VWplo, if you like it mate, then that's all that matters. I'm not sure that the black stripes on the bonnet or the black roof will work...just my 2 cents worth. I wouldn't consider it for my ride, roof or bonnet....too boy racery

Haha...I knew someone would question that.

However it's actually holding up quite well as the exhausts tips don't get overly hot. They'll be replaced shortly anyway once I get this Viezu package on the car with the black billet tips.

                              • dening, nice motorsports. how much did you pay for them if you don't mind me asking? also, post up some specs here for others reference>> http://www.vwwatercooled.com/forums/...ght-85362.html

now, recently have had some comments about the look my 77tsi (all good) and in particular, one about the "wrc" look i currently have going on with the white Aristo wheels. So i got to searching on the interwebs, trying to find out what wheels the Polo WRC car actually uses. All i could find was that they were O.Z racing. this was good, as i have been looking at getting some lighter wheels for the odd track day (currently 22kg/corner) and was looking at Alleggerita in either red or acid green (just to be different, pics to follow). So i went back to the O.Z website to see what i could find. Low and behold, as i scroll down the page, i come across the Superturismo WRC, in white, with red lettering... perfect (pics to follow). next step is to head to AMG Australia (importers of O.Z, BBS and others, not related to Mercedes amg) to see if they have them and if they will fit. and they do. 17x8 et35. have sent them an email regarding price and postage. then went to Alloywheels in the uk to get a price from them (have heard good things about them), can get the wheels for $1332.22aud delivered. the next step would be finding the right size semi-slick tyres for the polo and a 17x8 wheel (215/45, 225/40? [toyo proxies R888]).

also, to keep relevant, i plasti-dipped the front badge white (nothing big, and again, pic to follow)

                                TL;DR
to go full WRC look, or just #becauseracecar???
