According the ETKA, the steering wheels aren't Polo specific, the part numbers are 5K (Mk6 Golf) and 1K (Mk5 Golf) units.

I will have to wait til the R-Line steering wheel from the Polo pops its head out of the shadows...

By the way, how hard is it to removed/exchange the odometer cluster in the Polos? I think I want to do a R-line package retrofit.

But a Golf/Scirocco wheel should be fine since they're the same part?

AFAIK tacho swaps require special programming beyond VCDS, dealers can do it quite easily though.

I saw that as well and I would love to have the better system. Perhaps that instrument cluster and steering wheel combo to run through the menu items... I wonder if the 77tsi has the computer modules that would accept those changes?

Should be...however the multifunction won't work (Or so I have been told).

I will take my sweet time before I touch on it again, how long should it take to replace the wheel from stock to the flat bottom?

Plus...anything to do with the dealer = mega bucks.

I've heard its two hours at the dealer so like $200ish

Yeah the right side controls won't work since they're for the MFD, which the TSI doesn't have but the audio controls would be fine.
My friend put a MK6 wheel into his MK5, took him about 3-5 hours. But you don't need to mess with steering wheel modules and whatnot since yours will be compatible.

aussietig has a good write up on swapping up to a GTI wheel

The Polo's coding is in the central electronics menu instead and I guess you don't need to worry about paddles

                • What have i done with with my polo? Nothing!!! I had to bring my wife's car for service and I've been driving a loaner for the last two days. Wifey's driving the gti. I miss my car!!

The loaner is a BMW 320d with an ugly beige interior, ugly beige metallic trim, ugly beige steering wheel and ugly beige face dials. I miss my car!!

                  • Update:

Will be driving at Olympic park tonight as I have mixed 15% AVGAS (Aviation fuel) To test any variations.

Perhaps my usual stalker may find/spot me

                          • Finally put my old 5 Ch. HK Amp in. No need for a Line Out Converter because the RNS510 provides balanced (no noise if you use twisted pair cables) 6V output. The stock speakers take the 55W well and matches with my mates IDQ12 sub, it's all very natural and balanced.

It's all plug and play, no permanent damage to any of the factory wiring, chassis or terminals.
Here's some info on how to code the RCD/RNS 510 and the wiring I used.
