VWPlo, I'd be interested to hear a good run on a back street. Do you know what rear muffler was installed in your system?

I've got a turbo-back custom exhaust but left it standard from just after the resonator back (other than a nice big tip). Was chasing power more than sound so didn't spend more than I had to to get a result, but couldn't get anyone to tune my particular ECU, blah blah boo hoo long story. But now I'm looking to improve the sound as it sounds a bit like a gurgling drain pipe on a cold start and low revs, does a tinny rasp when I change up at 2000-2300rpm around town I (suspect the stock muffler doesn't like that frequency), but it sounds really sweet above that. Just wondering what I can do to fine tune the low rev noise.

ill try film something when i have the time. as far as what muffler was installed, i have no idea but im sure u could contact the guys at Ultimate Performance Mufflers in strathpine where i got it done and they could tell you and u could get them to do the same set up for you.

Bought some OEM black tails, shorty antenna, and black badges. Hoping the black theme would look good on the white gti!

Can I ask you, how much to spray your rims?

I already made an inquiry about those tail lights, unfortunately they are for LHD vehicles only.

Bummer about the tails. Please post pics if you get the badges I sprayed the wheels myself. Fare amount of work and still cost me 200 for all the materials but that's not to bad considering some places can Aparently charge up to 200 per wheel. Turned out brilliant, some very minor inperfection that u won't notice unless u r looking for them, Basically cause I had to spray outside and not in a spray booth

Those tail lights are optional from Germany when you buy the car... shame they don't work in Au.... I'd get them!

why wont those lights work in Aus? Front lights are handed, as they dip to the side of the road away from oncoming traffic, so EU front lights wont work here, but rear lights? nah, surely so long as they show the right colours they will be fine here.

Well I've already bought them. I'll see how I go, I can't really see an issue with them being LHD. Besides the fog light and reverse light being reversed, should be easy to fab something up.

I've bought LHD tails from the States before, haven't had an issue, I'm hoping for luck though LOL

The rear fog light is on the right in Aus but the left in EU. so when you go into reverse it will light up red instead of white/clear.

i guess you could try and rewire to the other side. but i dont know if that breaks any laws. not that a run of the mill jo blogs cop would notice.

Or maybe you can swap the red cover to the other side. you would have to split the lights up to get in which can be a lot of work and you may find that its not even doable once your in.

these fixess are all just guesses as iv never had one off let alone apart so try at your own risk. plus i dont knbow what hail22 was told about them so there could be more
