I asked if my clutch would have been fixed under warranty if I had a tune and he said no we would have voided it.

He also said that the car doesn't need a tune it's a little 1.4L with a turbo and super charger the engine is already under pressure. I'm not taking what he says with much grace but he did make me think otherwise.
They have to prove the tune damaged the part/parts. They can't go say it is void because you have a tune. They need to prove it. It is the law.

The engine can still handle more power, every commercial car is detuned and then made idiot proof. If you remove those factors you'll still be in the clear with a stage one. Looks up other custom builds on a 6R and 6N, and you'll notice how much dealers speak absolute rubbish!

This is all good and true but regardless it is a risk I have to take one way or another. The dealer I go to is the one at Rosehill it's about 30 second drive from my place it's quite handy and it's on the way to work so for me to go to another dealer I would have to travel a fair bit more.

Thus far the car has gone in a few times but after this last visit my cars been pretty damn good no issues so far, I'm going to run it for a while and see if anything pops up and then around Xmas might see if there are any deals going on. I for one though would really like to be able to remove any traces of there ever being a tune if I ever get one done.

      • Sorry man but that is impossible. There is a thing called the flash counter and that tells them how many times the ecu has been flashed. If that doesn't match the flash counter back at Vw headquarters then it's pretty easy for them to figure out why that is. The only plus side is they need to pull the ecu out of the car and plug it into their bench computer for it to uplink to the server at Vw.

        • Its real easy to keep clean, soapy water/hose off then dry.
Stops those nasty bird crap stains on your fresh factory paint too

APR Rewrites your flash counter the same as it was when it comes out - It's pretty easy for them. I can't speak for how other 3rd party tools handle this.

                • Roof wrapped looks much better then just the bonnet imo.

Oh and the obligatory Nurburgring sticker and stickerbombed rear window haha

                          • Here's another member recommending ALL Polo GTI owners to remove the middle muffler on their cars...

It provides a marked improvement in exhaust tone at a very reasonable price!

                            • Took a trip down to Sydney today to visit staz88. Big thanks mate for doing the VCDS code change so I could remove that stupid bluetooth touch adaptor. My Bury cradle should get delivered tomorrow and then I'm all sorted.

Thinking I might have to visit the guys at Leichardt that AdamK_GTI used to get the middle muffler removed soon. Hope it doesn't impact warranty though.
